So who does everyone think will be starting at hooker in place of Friend?

I'm tipping Aubs to step up into the role. I bet Mortimer is regretting leaving us now.

He's quite big for a 9, isn't he? But he played there a bit last season as I recall. You'd think they'd want another specialist.

Another hard fought win from the boys tonight, backs up against the wall with injuries to JWH and Pearcey, stood tall.

Brendo Elliot getting better by the week.

Hoping that SKD is back soon though.

JWH is a massive loss! Not sure anyone can step up to his aggression level. If Pearce injury is a calf, he would be looking at 4-5 games. The one player Roosters couldn't afford to lose was JWH:eek:

**** **** **** it.

Deserved better than losing those two guys with the brilliant form we're in.

It'll be huge if we win it from here now.

JWH really unlucky, been in stellar form and to do an ACL in round 24 just hurts, means he'll miss most of next season as well.
Pearcey's just looks like a strain at the moment and should be right in a couple of weeks.
Now we just need SKD to get healthy again.

Huge and potentially historic season if we can threepeat as we’d be the first NRL team to do so.

Looks like the Morris deal is back on which is huge. Don’t see us missing Latrell that must tbh.

Missed the threepeat, and to the other rugby super power. I might be the lone Rooster in this thread, got a good feeling we’ll be back in the GF this year. I’d love to other Roosters/Storm showdown.

Very early and I don’t care if the Storm are 1-2 they should be favourites until they can’t make the top 2. The Roosters are looking formidable but nothing is certain anymore. The end of last season still haunts me, we really fell off.

Sad day for the club but a great day for common sense.

jake friend is the ultimate story of someone learning from their mistakes. 12 years ago he and Todd carney got in strife for the same misdemeanour - friend was let go on the proviso that he clean himself up and they’d hire him again. Carney was retained. Since then one of them has cleaned up his act, captained premierships, played for Australia and Queensland and the other is a rugby league footnote.
