Ill give my 2 cents as a paid up long time member of the club.
Sydney is a man that has all the talents in the world. He has to capability to be one of the best- seriously. He is also someone who has had his fair share of struggles and challenges. He has made mistakes, some small some large, just like the rest of us. The problem is that he has not learnt from them. I believe that how a man recovers from mistakes and adversity is how they should be judged. I have heard many things about Sydney's behaviour and indescretions. Unfortuantley this is the last straw for me. The club has done everything and beyond for this young man but it seems that he simply can/does not have the temprement to be a PROFESSIONAL footballer. We gave him the chance of his lifetime when we picked him up. We gave him the most supportive environment and we gave him the full backing of the tiger army. We gave him encouragment( ive heard we activated a bonus in his contract even though he didnt deserve it AT ALL). We gave him patience and chances second, third, fouth and many more. From training to dealing with his cocky egotistical attitude, tokebabgate where we faced finacial sanctions and staff cuts. He has recieved more than his fair share of chances to prove that he can be a professional, and most importantly a Richmond Man. He has now ended up in a situation where he spends tongiht behind bars! and faces a strict WA court. I wont even go down the path of his lies and deciet of so many who have invested in him, or even the dangers of COVID and what his actions could possibly have led to. This is the end of the road for me Stacky. I, like the 100k other members want the very very best for you. But it seems that this cannot go on any longer. I relunctantly call for Sydney Stack to be sacked from the club upon the courts decision of the consequence.

To those who are defending him, I respect your opinions and I emphatise with you and syd. But lets talk about what is at play here. A egomanic who cant control himself. He put the whole state's health at risk with his downright lies to law enforcment. This was a planned deciet, not a drunk decision off the cuff. If you have a look at his Instagram he was out partying and definatley not self isolating as he shouldve done. There is breaking some rules and regulations, there is being a silly young man. And then there is crossing a line which you should not cross. It doesnt matter who you are, how famous how popular how rich, you cannot get away with putting millions' lives at risk. Weve seen 800+lives lost in Vic. There is no reason it cant happen elsewhere.

Maybe he needs to spend some time in the real world, maybe he needs to spend some time behind bars. Maybe he needs a really harsh wake up call. Maybe he needs some personal support to be with him the whole time. IDK at this stage, but what I think is that considering all things, the best way forward is seperatley for both the club and Sydney
Just a couple of thing, egomaniac is very subjective, from someone you have never met, but 'putting the whole state at risk' is pretty hyperbolic considering he flew from Victoria to WA, which doesn't require 14 day quarantine with a stop over in the Adelaide airport (so says The Age newspaper).
Seems like an overreaction from WA to me, given there have been no community cases of Covid in SA for nearly 4 weeks. Not that I am trying to excuse Stack of not pulling his head in as he should.

best 22 players, Nank and Tom Lunch also doing extras, whilst the next great white hope is out boozing and blueing in Northbridge.

You may not agree with WA’s handling of it’s border but SS knew the rules & disregarded them
No problem with that, and not trying to excuse Stack of flaunting the rules, just the rules are heavy handed given he is flying from Vic.via a stopover in SA where neither have covid issues.

Good riddance, it’s not like you guys really need him, he ain’t best 22 next year.
The sad part on the football side of things is that if he got it all right he's potentially our best talent in 5 years. Kid is a freak on field with what he showed he was capable of in year 1, its just he doesn't have the mental application and maturity required to fulfil the potential of that ability.

The premier over there is a knob, but, he has an obligation to protect his states people and industry. He's doing that. He doesn't have to justify what he does to anyone bar the people of WA. This is on Stack. No one else.
Agree, but you can fly from Victoria no problem, but a stopover in an Adelaide airport makes you a risk, a state that hasn't had a community case in 4 weeks or so.

Club needs to get him back to Melbourne and get the proper support around him and try one final time to save him from himself. Its clear that being in WA is no good for him, too easily distracted and led astray.

I know this isn't the popular opinion but this reminds me of my own situation this year. Not going into too much detail but my employer could have easily booted me when I went off the rails mid year, but they stood by me and gave me support and allowed me time to get myself sorted and 3-4 months later I'm thriving again.

So I would like to see us get Stack back here and put it as bluntly as possible to him that he is on his final chance, one more screw up and its the end. That means his training needs to be at the level it was when he first arrived at a minimum. No alcohol no parties no contact with WA mates and if he can't agree to those sort of conditions then say thanks but its over.
100% agree. There is no harm in doing this, but Stack has to change. Pretty simple.

I see there are still Dorothy Dixers amongst us, will end up at another club, then another ala Harley then will be gone

sure we all agree, but I think the club did all that, this is further downstream of your example. This is the equivalent of you 'running off the rails' again twice more in the next year, what do you think your boss would do then?

Perth and his mates are not the issue. FFS he was surrounded by RFC staff 24/7 when he jeopardised our, and the entire AFL’s, season.

Sydney is the problem here, no one (or no city) is an excuse for his behaviour.

PS this isn’t a go at you _RT_ as this has come up several times over the last few days. And very glad things worked out well for you in what has been a shit of a year.

You may be right, but you may not be. Reckon it is worth the gamble, after all he is probably the most talented kid to walk through the door since Dusty, so I reckon he is worth fighting for, no matter how it offends your sensibilities.

Spot on

give the spot to someone that wants it.

How long will the club have to treat him with kid gloves.

I have NO sympathy for him anymore he’s had plenty of opportunities. After all 17 other clubs turned their back on him. We’ve gone above and beyond for him.

My sympathies lie with all the other kids that just missed out on a spot and are working their buts off to get on a list

Lets just say I'm in a similar position having had multiple issues this year that would have been easy for my bosses to cut me loose, but they haven't

It's interesting all who are ready to jump on him without the all the facts - the context. Thankfully the Club will review and have as much of the context that is going to be available. Good decisions will be made. I hope it lands on Stacky having another shot at it - he comes from an unusual background, our privileged frame of reference is not be what will make the situation win win. We have some wise owls at the Club - let's just wait a bit more before rushing to condemn.

Sack him! Idiot.....
Idiot sure and I don't think SS is going to have Road to Damascus moment out of this. Both Stack's incidents have been drunken fights at night. But we're stuck with him for 2021 I think. 4 ~ 6 Club suspension and tell him he ain't playing AFL level until he gets trust back. i.e. 2022. Maybe that would inspire him to stay in WA

Sad to say, I imagine that if his behavior gets him booted from Punt Rd. then it will only serve to confirm the doubts that everybody seems to hold.

I mean, the other 17 clubs pretty much recognized his talent but already put him in the "too hard" basket.

I think it's Richmond or bust for Stack.

Still not the point. If you are meant to quarantine. DO IT. If you are a professional athlete who has had two previous breaches in particular, ****ing do it. There is no justification at all for his actions.

I haven't tried to justify his actions, rules are rules and I have said that. Just that the rules are very heavy handed. Plenty of people tried to smuggle themselves out during our pandemic, and were fined accordingly, Stack is in jail without bail! Only in WA, where 10 year old kids can end up in juvi for stealing a loaf of bread. Good old 3 strikes policy.

i missed most of it but 3aw said we are looking at terminating his contract
Good. Was happy to give him another chance after Kebabgate but seriously you'd think the bloke would have his head down and working his arse off to get back into the team. He's doing the opposite.

Idiot.
