I’ve been as hard on stack as anyone here but at this point the punishment no longer fits the crime
Given that he hasn’t even been given his punishment yet

It's a serious charge, he could get six months.

Given the club said yesterday they couldn't get any legal representation across the (closed) border, perhaps Stack's defence requested an adjournment?

Just heard a legal expert comment.

He has no issue with her going to high security. She's openly taken on the authorities over covid, refused testing, refused quarantine, posted on social media she will bust out and ignored authorities, then lied on her bail address, and only handed herself in when her duty solicitor (same solicitor that handled Stack) contacted her about the wrong address.

As he said, on the surface it sounds harsh, but if everyone took a similar approach covid could be rife in the state.
Can Jenny play Half Back? Can she lay a legal bump and take the odd screamer?

From memory back with the Golden Princess cruise ship and the premiers swift action, it was said hes an ex navy lawyer. No wonder hes strict on covid and the law.

WA's copped a lot of flak from the other states, but they've managed to keep the virus out. Mess around with this thing and it will bite you.

Victorias harsh rules came in "after" the horse had bolted.

If only our premier was as srict with the initial quarantine laws like WA from the beginning.

This is only a guess, but if Stacky has tested positive for Covid, they would not be allowed to mention it outside the court as far as I know. Prison's are notorious places. It might mean he needs another 14 days and another 3 for a secondary negative test before being permitted to pay the fine and leave.
Or, perhaps he's come into contact with a confirmed case recently. Having breached special approvals and provided false address details - he being treated as unreliable in something like one of those additional circumstances?

WTF is going on in WA? I feel like that state is the closest to an authoritarian rulership we have in Australia right now. 30 days in jail for not complying with quarantine coming from a state with like 0 cases and stopping over from another state with pretty much 0 cases too? I get why they wanted to be tough and all while he didn't finish the quarantine period, but that time is up now. What other reason apart from being over the top do they have for keeping him until January 23rd? I'm just shocked at what is transpiring right now to be honest.

Also, please get someone to support this kid through this time Richmond. I know that they don't really need to do things like that but it would be great for them to organise something to get support for him.

The hun article posted earlier said Stack just said "yep" to the magistrate asking if he understood the decision.
Shame the court reporter couldnt/wouldnt mention what the question actually was.

If it had some sort of Covid connection specific to Stack, the court reporters would know not to write anything that identifies anyone with or diagnosed or still subject to testing - they wouldn't risk contempt.

Yeah, read that too - let's hope that's how it rolls and that he can leave soon.
