Just to be accurate, the kebab thing was they SNUCK out after a club function in the hub, which ultimately cost the RFC 100 grand, to get a few MORE beers in their bellies.

the latest thing again was leaving his accommodation on his way to get Covid tested at 1-20 in the morning via a night club district,

we ALL want him to succeed, but according to a number of posters NOT believing he will succeed because of attitudes and behaviours make US haters.

Geez you must have been a really good young man!;)

I would lay money that a very large number of instances of AFL players doing things like CCJ and Stack did happened last year. What didn't happen was some random drunk attacked on (the 200cm guy!) and they waited around for the police. So I'm not too surprised by all that. So much stuff didn't make the news - including the fact that the Tigers actually stayed at a homeless shelter in Adelaide, whilst being in strict quarantine!! I a few years I reckon someone will write a tell all book that will have us in stitches with all the stuff that went on under the radar.

Having said that Stack is a magnet for trouble obviously, and he isn't sharp enough to get himself out of it. He's a worry not because he gets into minor bits of trouble, but because he makes small things worse. That's what worries me. He seems to be one of those guys that makes his own life harder than it needs to be. Stuff that most people walk into and out of becomes a fairly significant problem for Syd. You want to eliminate that aspect of your life very quickly cause otherwise you'll lose you AFL career and have a crap existence.

He went home in September. That minor breech as you call it was he getting in a fight with his relative, leaving the house, getting on the piss and then getting into a drunken brawl. That is not minor mate. Keep in mind im judging him as an AFL footballer, not as a normal 20 something. Also with the last 4 months, after his last drunken escapade, he was put in the clink for 30 days, that and I am hoping this is the case, will sober any bloke up.

I have a son close to his age, I dont know much about some of the socials but there is one platform that stacks highlighted his major drunken binges and that was this off season as well as last off season. Judging by what i have seen, for him to have the confidence to highlight that type of behavior, when he knows it would harm the club image tells me he still does not get it, does not understand what he signed up for when he committed to becoming an AFL player.

Lets hope, like I said the jail time was the final straw that wakes him up as if he is 100% committed he has all the tools to become and very good player and make a fantastic life for himself
I thought he had another Covid breach in Oct/Nov, a minor one. I can't seem to find any information about it, but are you saying he got into a fight then also, 3 breaches, 3 fights. Not trying to lessen the latest, never have, and have mainly railed against the harshness of the WA laws and tried to balance a bit some peoples very negative reaction to Stack, not saying you are one of those. I don't think there are any 'haters' by the way as I'm sure we all want to see him come through this.

Perspective Tiger71. You are pitching all that from one perspective only. Let me paint another - He went home in September, a place he has had number of issues before, he's been back and forth since September apparently, we don't know if he had stayed their previously, but this time he names an address well out of Perth we believe is his earlier home - maybe he had to come up with something quickly for the Covid quarantine form that was thrust upon him because of the plane stopping in Adelaide, maybe he went there hoping to bury the hatchet, or make past events better (do we even know) - and he had a disagreement there apparently, a falling out, or as you call it a fight. Whatever, we don't know the exact narrative there. Maybe he left to avoid another blow up, maybe he learned from past experiences and knew he needed to distance himself to avoid problems - again we don't know the finer detail, nor do we really need to know. So he has to stay somewhere else, doesn't or forgets or simply hasn't had the time to notify WA Health. It's silly, but it happens more than you realise, and even by so-called pillars of the community, full blown adults. He's encouraged, egged on maybe by some mates to have a couple of drinks maybe meet a few others he hasn't seen in ages. Wants to show some of his past peers he is still good ol' Stacky, that this Richmond fame thing hasn't changed his roots - he's still a brother ..... but one dickhead doesn't buy any of it, he lips off once or twice at Stacky, eventually Stacky bites back with a comment some returned lip - ever been there Tiger71? He leaves said venue (if they were even in a venue) and this dickhead wants to pursue Stacky, make a hero of himself maybe, or is just generally a turd of a bloke - he might even post with all that bravado on here for all we know - he tries to make Stacky fight him, Stacky knows this is not going to work so is backing off, the turd swings and tries to land one, Stacky ducks - he's friggen trained athlete so that's not hard. While he's ducked he lifts the leg of the turd of a bloke and gets him to ground and dashes across the road, he's a bit fired up - flight or flight - and as far as we know he still hasn't fought back, but got out of there as best he can. That's what we've seen in some footage! Police are around maybe, talk to the parties and onlookers, decide it's best to issue a move on notice to both idiots (after all he's indigenous and must be half of the problem:rolleyes:) and in doing so discovers he's not completing his isolation properly (due to a stupid flight arrangement maybe) and is arrested because his status needs to be properly determined. He's been evasive about details initially because it is now dawning on him how serious this has escalated to AND so quickly!

The rest we have some sort of idea about. His legal rep couldn't see him, Covid19 restrictions and all that - matter adjourned - no bail might need to re-isolate. Etc etc

Now I have no idea how right and how wrong all or any of the above is - but I will say, on what I know so far, all of the above is possible, even plausible

Don't know the site -am a dinosaur. But I will say that the truth is often not in what you see depicted, but rather in what all the circumstances are. Maybe it is as bad as you say, maybe it's all bullshit bravado too - the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle in my experience.

I'll bet a quick chat to Marlion Pickett when he gets back is going to be as useful as the days spent in jail. Because if it is as bad as the horrible narrative you have painted, Stacky will end up in jail eventually, and Marlion will quietly confirm that, of which I am sure. I said at the very outset, I believed the jail time, the time to reflect in solitude day after day, will either make the man or break the man. Let's see if it makes the man first eh!

Respect your view mate but in your perspective it has a lot of excuses and blame for others for stacks behavior. Sometimes when you finally become accountable and stop blaming others, you grow and I hope stack is taking that path. You mention Marlion influence and the hope that impacts Stack, well he has already had Marlion influence for a year and it seems it has had little effect, to date.

Again and to be clear, all I have posted are FACTS, not plausible maybe's or could have been. All is on the public record and is easy enough to find. Also and again to be super clear. I WANT STACK TO MAKE IT, caps for effect. Yet highlighting the fact he seems to consistently, again to date, have "issues" that always has the one common denominator, the grogg, is a major concern. Not because he is an AFL player but also because if he continues on that path it will cost him his career and he fully understands that too.

Stating that I think he has an issue with drinking and that does not work in his role as an AFL player does not make me a hater, or wish ill on the bloke. Dan Conners also had major issues with the grogg, was super talented but wasted his shot, I dont want that for Stack but as of today I dont trust the fact he has learned his lesson. I am hoping he proves me wrong because again, I want him to succeed.

Agree with you mate on the harsh WA government treatment of stack and my personal belief it was in part due to race as others have also infringed at the level stack did and were not imprisoned. It was a disgrace.

well said Rafa Benitez Facts not Conjecture

And I respect yours as previously mentioned -but where exactly has there been blame for others in the narrative I characterised? No I think you can also be involved in circumstances that get beyond your control and all you can do is make the best decisions you can - some have to be instantaneous, some you have time and the experience and some, frankly you are kicking in to the wind. Marlion has had a chance to be an influence, he now has his biggest chance to be an influence because now there is more relevance and common ground.

I know you would have Stack in a millisecond if he became tea-totter, as I would. Not going to happen though, just as you are not going to go on the podcast and never swear again and not have drink prior (and I doubt many us don't want you to - too entertaining ;)) But he's a couple of years only as a fully fledged adult! - you have at least ten times that. He's going to have to develop some self-control skills, just as Marlion had to. Hard earned, as these ones will be for Stacky. Can the Club do it - back him in - you'd know better than me - I do know he's a special talent having his second year blues and some. But I hear he has a good heart.

Mate, I know you are not a hater, that would be a silly phrase, a pointless one. I think we are hearing more love from the playing group about the everyday Stacky than I ever heard about Dan Connors. Cheese and Chalk. I never heard Dan commented on with as much likability as Stacky. Big difference.

And what if the arguement with his family was about him wanting to go out on the piss

Agreed, could be a lot of what ifs - and that's the point. Not a single convenient narrative because that the most likely from 3000km away.

Correct , if he was at another club, I’m sure the excuses would be the same .......not

Some of the excuses offered up here to defend his multiple discretions are very amusing.

10 out of 10 for creative short story synopsis though.
Harley Bennell had a troubled upbringing too

What a load of crap. Paint a picture anyway you like. He's an irresponsible idiot.

another one of those “back in my day” types.
Only defence I am giving him is that he is 20. He is still young enough to turn his career around. Many posters here are acting like they never made a mistake in their life. Much less when they were in their early 20s finding their way.

Says you. Others suggest different - doesn't make either correct yet. We'll all see in time.

You missed the point
There's a reason Sydney who was predicted to go as high as 26 was overlooked by "every club including Richmond" every club including Richmond also overlooked him in the rookie draft, and he eventually went in a special new suplimentary category.

For someone with such obvious elete tallent, you can now understand why every club after doing due diligence passed on him.
The script is playing out just as the clubs suspected, but it's ok as he's just a kid, and with the flick of a simple switch is about to change his entire personality and outlook on life

maybe this ordeal might be that switch?
