I like your maths, you're correct on the 37.5k
Make a tiktok of you microwaving your membership ranting about what Stack has cost the club. Might sway the decision makers.
Its a pity we can't nominate a player we we renew our memberships. I wonder how many would have said Stack after 2019 season.
Why is having an opinion, a reason to microwave memberships?

Think it was a bit of theatrics Ol SunnyBoy!
Yeah having an contrary opionion microwave your membership, stop following the club, you’re just a RWNJ, youre a hater................Theatrics

I think the Microwave comment was - the rest you might have sort out for yourself. No idea what RWNJ is, but you are no hater!

I have it on good authority that the fine was paid out of the AFLs distribution fund. So the AFL paid our fine to itself from themselves.
Us members are in the clear..

source: my own wit and humour
Benny and the AFL said in the original presser the club had to pay, and it was the AFLPA who said stack and ccj won't be paying.

Original presser eh. Be interesting to know how that really played out though.......

You know those numbers as absolute facts? Confirmed it with the Club, or relying on summary estimates of journalists? Serious questions to you. Did the two said players get paid what they would normally have been paid, or was the suspension also a suspension of earnings in that time?

Sometimes these sorts of things get bandied around as fact, simply because a journo (probably reading this right now ;)), put a few questions out there without straight answers coming back and they drew their own conclusions because they have to hit the Twitter Feed first.........

Do you think the Club has the right to impose it's own fines? - probably does. I'm guessing we were all so intoxicated with the Premiership win (again!), that the cost of a $75k stupid tax didn't seem so important in the bigger scheme of things. You should make it your goal to get a band of brothers together whose memberships equal $75k and negotiate with the Club to not pay it if you feel that strongly about it, which seems likely. That way, your membership wont be affected! Or, like the rest of us, roll your eyes a couple more times and accept that Peggy, Benny and the Financial Director are all over it and there will be balance there somewhere - the correct call can still occur, by them, for the good of a pretty well run Club.
This $100k fine was only in 2020 &100% COVID related. Normally a club would fine players for off field indiscretions just few match suspensions. A la Nathan Broad. It might've had an instant affect on Stack though if he was fined personally. He could've got a gofundme page to help with payment

Lol, you're so desperate for any alternative angle.

No, you just think that, I'm interested to know. I'm neither naive enough nor have big enough rose coloured glasses to think what is printed in the news or twitter is the whole of it.

To be perfectly accurate? No precedent? Really?

Of course they knew. It was well publicised to the general public that his captains wifes covid breach cost the club 45 thousand dollars, 25 thousand of that was suspended and was then added to the 37.5 thousand each for Stack and CCJ.

Stack didn't even have to pay the fine, we the members did.

On the Brook Cotchin breach

“We acknowledge an unintentional breach of the AFL’s COVID-19 protocols was made, and accept the sanction imposed by the AFL,”

Strict adherence to the competition’s protocols is essential, and we have taken measures to ensure everyone in our Queensland hub is fully aware of their responsibility to adhere to them.”
- Benny Gale
I was accurate. You are not. I said they didn't know it would cost 100K. Where is the evidence that each player would be fined 37.5K for the next offence? I can't find it anywhere. Please provide a link to that exact amount.

Semantics.

Of course they didn't know if it was 37.5, 36, 31 or 39 thousand. Brook Cotchin was fined 20 thousand plus an extra 25 suspended for the club so there's a starting point.
Benny layed the law down to the players after Cochin. They were aware.

Carlton, the Hawks and North also had similar fines before Stack and ccj

The maths are spot on.
Its just annoying he didn't have to pay a cent.

Its odds on a 12k plus fine will be handed out by the courts and we the members won't be paying that, he will.
Ffs, if anyone should be annoyed it's me. My 2 mates and I basically have paid 30% of his fine ourselves. That's how much the 3 of us put into the club, so I'm perfectly aware he didn't pay for it. Actually I think that he and CCJ paid 5K each which is the maximum any player has to pay.

If stack is let go I'd be worried about the batting depth outside the 22

Not only can stack play good football he can play back/fwd/mid and is close to next guy in
He’d wanna play a load better than his last outing to warrant that claim, tbh on his recent exposed form I don’t have him any more valuable than untried rookies . Who says he can return to the dazzling debut season level

I think we can safely say Covid and isolation and the discipline that required did not sit all that comfortably with Syd. Behind the 8 ball right now, but in 3-4 months time he could be in fine shape, provided he isn't sent back to prison.

Why would he be sent back to prison?

So Benny is lying to his members... oh ok.

No Mr Twisty, he would have given the media as little information as necessary that was known at the time realising that the whole process was work in progress.

Would you have any knowledge if the players continued to receive Club payents while suspended? It would surprise me if something wasn't clawed back this way as 'they are suspended'.

Possibly , the rest remains to be seen , I’m not overly confident and I’m steadfast he’s no closer to the best 22 than Hugo is

No. I haven't asked the club. They're not back (administration) until the 20th of January.
