Stack goes to jail but the entire club can hang out at a homeless convention no worries.

Nothing, but they are different circumstances aren't they.
I have never dismissed his breaking quarantine and getting into strife once in my arguments as anything other than dumb, but sort of understandable in some respects. Believe it or not, you can have your cultural ceremony then you can go out, just like we might do after such an event. Better to keep your head down in Stack's case, but there you go. Have said all along however that the punishment does not befit the crime.
Agree, the Qld breach was really dumb, same with CCJ. Myself and others have argued since xmas about nuances of why, from stupidity to being young. From flaws in character to the breach being on a very minor scale. Nobody has dismissed his actions as anything other than dumb. But that doesn't mean he hasn't served his time and paid the penalty. Get him back at Richmond so he can start to square the ledger, if he still actually wants to. It does nobody any good to have him still in WA awaiting a trial date 3 months down the track, given that 99% of people who have breached covid regulations are not paying the price he is.sort of understandable?
he busted quarantine in qld, had the club pay his fine for him, which resulted in people losing their gig
his response, rinse and repeat in wa (except this time breaking actual laws and not just govt afl bubble rules)
thing i could understand is if it was a one off. it isnt

I get what you are saying. Stack has been living in WA but for a brief spell back at the club, and a briefer stopover in Adelaide for months. Doesn't mean he would have much of an interest or even an understanding of the significance of his breach, because he is 20 and I doubt he is into the politics of it, nor would he really be much affected by it as life in WA is pretty much as normal. And has that bit him on the arse.what non wa peeps dont get is the law in WA on covid is not ******* around. they havent had our issues, and frankly they dont want them.
thats why the fines are massive and people are getting custodial sentences and bail is being refused (not just for Stack).
I have zero issue with him being required to stay in WA as a part of his bail conditions. Its exactly what would be happening if i was busted over there, and allowing him to return to victoria would be creating a special rule for one.
he is on his absolute last and final chance. hopefully the stint in the cell and being in WA until his hearing will be the wake up call he has so far declined to take seriously. TBH many players wouldnt be getting the third chance from RFC that he is getting.

Based on Brendon Gales comments after the COVID fines the club seemed to think that the players/non players (Brooke) would be paying their own fines but it wasn't to be. Not our decision. Caro said the COVID fines caused dismissal of her friend at RFC and discontinuation of the VFLW program continuing. (which was for reasons other than financial.. i.e, lack of depth of player talent)sort of understandable?

Stack's 2019 season created revenue at RFC to half fund that program in the first place.
I have a 20 year old son so know exactly how they think, and he would not have thought all that much about the responsibilities you mention. And I reckon Stack now has a fair grasp about MacGowan's laws, not that he would have given much thought to them I reckon at the time. We all think we are bulletproof when we are 20, especially for someone like Stack who has lived off his wits for a long time.he is 20, he's not a kid
he is trusted to be able to decide on our leaders, find someone guilty on murder as a member of a jury, fight in afghanistan and not kill innocents with our armed forces, and if he wants own a car and firearm - both of which are capable of killing people if mishandled.
yet, he cannot be trusted to read quarantine conditions before changing states? He lived in the covid bubble for months, and would have been hearing 24/7 the issue of state by state rule changes as the bubble struggled to deal with them. even more importantly, the notion he had no idea of McGowan chucking up the wall every five minutes is laughable.
the dude who used the analogy of speeding through roadworks is bang on. its not lack of info that got him on this, it was that he didnt take it seriously enough.
and fwiw he's not alone - plenty of people have been chucking parties in breach of rules because they assumed they wouldnt get busted and it wasnt a big deal anyway.

That's cos they don't have his talent!...TBH many players wouldnt be getting the third chance from RFC that he is getting.
The AFLPA stepped in to stop the players paying their fines from memory
That's cos they don't have his talent!
Of course he is...he is 20, he's not a kid
Stacky didn't get out of jail for free...he did his time!and that is 100% the wrong approach (giving good players a GOOJF card)

It would not cut mustard with a judge agreed, certainly not in WA. No other state it would even get near a court, a fine at the most.thats a cop out
try arguing that before a judge
Find a post that said that. Too much talent to let waste in WA, plenty.and this was a good thing. it shits me when people say someone like Stack has too much talent for jail, but they are happy for a Ray Hall to stay in a cell

Rings a bell but why is/was Ray Hall in jail? Foreign affairs??

(also cost us our TAC sponsorship)How do you know possibly know she paid? You get access to the clubs books?players were already wavering before the aflpa stepped in
off mem brooke paid hers
Been a while since I was a youngun, senility closer to it.bloody young 'uns!
razor got on the cans, was spending a night in the drunk tank, and had to wake up the coach to come and bail him out(also cost us our TAC sponsorship)
*and the laugh isnt for the incident or the loss of sponsorship - its who in their right mind wakes up the coach when locked up?

Thought Ray he might have gotten locked up in a Port Moresby prison or something, much more serious as it turns out.
Sugar Kane had a leak on the police station fence and Schultz driving indiscretion was the last straw for TAC.bloody young 'uns!

The rich, the beautiful, the privileged, the elite sportsman, and Ray Hall. The injustice.I remember ray because Otto also got busted around the same time. People wanted the book thrown at ray, but were crying forgiveness for Otto
Funny how one's ability to win a game effects how we think justice should treat them.
