Hmm, I will stand by my words that as an AFL footballer fighting for a spot in the team you shouldnt be eating 'kebabs' at 3am. However if Stack was standing up for his mate, kudos to him. Also, if he breached Covid regulations, he must be punished, the same as everybody else

They are allowed to go to certain pre determined places but the short answer is no they are not allowed.
Leaving the hub after a few beers , getting a kebab at 3-30 in the morning what could possibly go wrong

This has been an interesting thread to read.
I still think its inexcusable what they have done.
If all they wanted was a bloody Kebab, there are multiple shops that would have a relationship with Uber Eats and they could have had contactless delivery direct to the hub.

Instead, these two geniuses, hopped in an Uber at 3am after they've been drinking at the hub, gone to the local night spot and ended up involved in a fight.

Now forgive my ignorance, but how often does someone randomly walk up to you and start a punch on for absolutely no reason. Stack and CCJ aren't high profile AFL players, especially with QLD being a rugby based State, id be surprised if anyone would even take a second look at them.
Clearly something happened in the lead up.

Why put yourself in that position? So dumb.

exactly , what could possibly go wrong

You could be correct. This from ch7

"Both players will now find themselves in hot water over a breach of the AFL’s biosecurity protocols.

AFL players are required to live in a “bubble” while playing out the remainder of the season in the Sunshine State.

Players are permitted to leave their resort hubs for exercise, get groceries or to grab takeaway food - however, attending a strip club is clearly in contravention of AFL rules.

we can just say they were getting takeaway kebabs and some blokes tried to assault them

never set foot in the strip club

ccj to play next game give soldo a rest

What happened AFL wise to the two Melbourne players who used an Uber earlier this year? I know Melbourne suspended them for a game, did the AFL do anything?

Edit: Melbourne players coped a match ban.

we need to be given the same punishment. but they'll send em home anyway to make an example

especially now that the qld premiers has had her say

slowly losing respect for Stack..Hasn't done much right since he go injured last year. The only positives are that he is young and can learn from it. Who knows if he will though..He doesn't seem to have the right attitude this year. Hoping things turn around for him this off season and comes ready for a big 2021 to prove to his team mates, the fans and himself.

CCJ on the other hand, not a great start for him. Really hoping we keep him though as I believe he will become a good player. It will hurt a lot seeing him play well at another club. We seriously need another key forward after Riewoldt who wont be around for long. Think he will give the game up on a high at the end of next year.

it would be a sh*t storm if they were caught regardless of where they went and what happened
And thats the thing. As far as the AFL are concerned breaking the Covid restrictions jeopardises the whole season. If the Qld premier pulls the plug on all hubs the season is over.

reckon we should send the whole playing group to hollywood showgirls tonight as a show of support for the boys
instead of sending stack and ccj home just make them work off the fine at the strip club so they can pay back the club with some dances and pole work

OK wait , guys please clear this up for me.

Tigs had bday party with drinks. This is allowed

Stack and Jones went to get kebabs. This is allowed.

Stack and Jones got jumped by some oppo fan and defended themselves . This is allowed

Stack and Jones got uber. Not allowed.

Is that the only breach??

Because if it is , you got cooks like Maher on sen wanting Richmond to have the most severe penalty of all time. Turn it up

I reckon Dimma would be fuming at Stacky.
He's said a few times this year he really wants Stack in the team, he'll obviously be unavailable for the rest of the year now.
Hopefully his unavailability doesn't come back to bite us if we get some injuries or suspensions.

my conspiracy theory is that they were just going out for some late night kebabs, eddie has had spies watching our hub and saw them leave and has paid some blokes to antagonize them and also paid the bouncers to claim that they were inside the strip club. strip club's CCTV footage will mysteriously not be available so all we have is the kebab shop footage

C’mon mate
Yes send them home and fine them but 12 months without pay! Is way over the top

They haven’t broken any laws
Tell that too the poor staffer who we have to cut because our soft cap is 100k less.
