Two Richmond players have been arrested after fighting outside a Gold Coast strip club.
The Courier-Mail has been told the two players, Sydney Stack and Callum Coleman-Jones were involved in an altercation last night after being evicted from Hollywood Showgirls on the glitter strip’s Orchid Ave.

A statement released by Queensland Police Service said two men were issued with an infringement notice for public nuisance (violent behaviour).

“Police arrested two men following a disturbance in Surfers Paradise early this morning,” the statement said.

“Around 3.30am, officers responded to reports of two men, aged 20 and 21, involved in a physical altercation on Orchid Avenue.

“Both men sustained facial injuries as a result of the incident.

“The men were both issued with a Police Banning Notice, excluding them from Gold Coast Safe Night Precincts and a Penalty Infringement Notice (PIN) for Public Nuisance (Violent Behaviour). Further investigations are continuing into the matter.”

A league spokesman said: “The AFL is aware of the matter and is currently investigating”.

Unbelivably stupid in all aspects. We are in the middle of a fing pandemic. This is no time to be at a ****ing strip club. This not only shits on our club, it shits on our memebers and fans too. These 2 are fighting to even get a single game, and they're doing this??? Stack is really disappointing me this season. If this is his behaviour going forward, he can piss right off. I'm sure there would be a club which loves immature tiktokers.

Firstly, both undoubtedly involved in idiocy. Without knowing exactly what happened (loose facts at this stage), my take is similar to Dusty with chopstick gate. Just don’t put yourself in a position where that situation is possible.

Second, the punishment will no doubt fit the crime. What that results in, I suspect some form of suspension (minimum four games one would suspect) and a massive fine for the club.

Third, let’s not forget they’re 20/21 year old kids with free time on the Gold Coast. That’s not to justify their actions - it doesn’t - especially with this pandemic and significant amounts of staff having to be laid off. Let alone the 100,000 members, a lot of whom digging deep in tough times because they love the footy club. But we’ve all made mistakes and stupid decisions in our early 20s (hell I’m making them in my early 30s). To me, talk of delisting and trades etc. is a little over the top.

Disappointed. Angry. Frustrated. Another instance that questions our culture when it has been (in most cases unjustifiably) questioned. Let them be punished, and give them a chance to repay it I say.
