Funny how all the commentary on Richmond is how well we have recruited taking on Stack, Pickett and a whole heap of players that didn't get drafted through traditional ways. How we think outside the square, family club etc, as soon as something happens they turn like hyena's. Hypocrisy at its finest. Can't wait for Caro's arrow. In fact I can.
Caro can bugger right off. Had enough of her, Richmond is her media gravy train...

Can we ban all WCE supporters from posting on our board? They’re still salty we kicked their arse last week so they’re not going to post anything of value until they’ve completed the grieving process.
no I'm not salty, we weren't good enough on the night:)

a clear case of the lawyer (Peos) saying the guilty party (Stack) isn't responsible for his own actions and shouldn't be punished. So when does somebody become responsible for their actions and have to wear the punishment.

Fair enough. My belief is that Stack and CCJ should make at least some kind of contribution to the fines, even if they pay it off over 12 months. Also important to recognise that those two are in a vastly different situation than Cotchin who has been on big money for 10 years, compared to the other two who have had their already low wages cut this year.

Paul Marsh has come out pretty strongly and basically said no way will that happen, and Stacks manager said the same thing. It creates a bit of tension in an already tense dynamic if the club requests they pay it and the players in conjunction with their managers/union push back on that.

when club wants them pay, and they can't afford it, and their managers argue back, don't see this ending well. Reckon there's a big risk they leave for peanuts.
I agree, I understand the club is furious, but honestly I think it was unprofessional of Gale to publicly announce that the players would pay before that's been confirmed, and I regard him very highly. The players association have come out and said they can't be forced to pay unless they volunteer, and the manager has said he shouldn't pay so it's pretty clear he won't. And frankly if I were stack I wouldn't, he's in his second year on a pretty low salary (after rookie wages last year), and after his fiasco there's no guarantee he'll get another contract, in which case 37.5k is enormous.

It's a terrible situation and the players are obviously at fault, but a messy public dispute about money is the absolute last thing we need and would completely destroy any future prospects with the players, not to mention the personal toll it would take on them. Should all be happening behind closed doors

the media reports said they were evicted from the club, having said that, I don't think they were responsible for the fight. I don't know what dialogue took place but it looked like a "Ben Stokes" type "cowards punch" situation with the guy just lashing out at them.
BTW, can't understand Dunstall saying that the two shouldn't pay the fine because they aren't high earners, they knew the rules so let them pay, maybe not in one hit, but pay they must.

There is a little thing called Capacity to Pay. I'm not saying that it determines everything but it comes into the discussion - and will!

nobody cares about womens footy. especially if it means we wont have a vfl side

they can't afford it is crap. and if they are worth their AFL careers they can afford it.

35 years trying to get a premiership and could be tossed in the blink of an eye, some need to get a perspective.

They are on more than the dole

If you'd rather I go, I'll go, no issue with that.

I'm just passing on info that might be of interest.

I'm not here in the thread gloating, I actually like Stack and his story, and wish him the best.

Has nothing to do with the result last week.

It depends what the underlying reason for it is.

AFLM and AFLW have different footy dept soft caps.

If the reason is the soft cap, that won't solve the issue.

If it is a revenue issue at Richmond, it might help.

there is a concept of debt and future owings from projected earnings

Let's see if they have any projected earnings from which to garnish first. The Debt, as you call it, is not theirs. It is the Club's. What contribution may be made is yet to be ratified it would seem from what has been said so far.
