I wonder what the club will do to stop a 3rd incident? People talk about premiership points but i am terrified of the possibility of losing draft picks..Not to mention another incident could cost is a flag this year..
Personally would put our hub into lockdown for rest of season though i doubt the club will do that?
Read them the riot act. Any player that isn't 100% commited to stick this hub thing out should be put on the next plane home with these two. No judgement. We just don't want anyone left up there who might not be up for the commitment required.

If Stack had any balls he would stay at the club and prove to Dimma that he can make it up to him and his team mates.
As far as the fine goes he can pay it off in instalments over his next contract.

But he needs to man up, own it, move on, show loyalty and grit.
Yep. He’s very young but the signs aren’t great with Stacky in terms of him being likely to break established patterns. You’d think the kick in the bum after coming back to the club out of shape would have had him pulling his head in for the immediate future. I suspect the temptation will be flight rather than fight but I dearly hope to be wrong. Hopefully the strength of our indigenous group will make a difference in the end..

Curiously he doesn’t seem to hang with the other indigenous boys that pretty well stick together

I actually think all of this is related to the season shutting down due to COVID.

Pre COVID, Stack look in great shape and immaculate form in the Marsh series.

I can see how someone like Sydney, who hasn't had a lot of structure in his life would struggle with the isolation and lack of oversight of the covid break.

By all reports he struggled, and came back to the club out of shape.

His poor fitness means he has been out of the team for majority of the season.

Being out of the team means he has very little to do, training sessions and kick and giggle scrimmages.

The lack of ressies means he has too much time on his hands, and devil finds work for idle hands.

All of this sits on his own shoulders and he needs to own his poor choices, but I can see why Stack has found himself in the position he has found himself in.

A $37,500 fine for someone earning $110,000 seems to be unpayable. The club should levy their own fine much lower than the AFL fine.

I’m not convinced that 10 weeks is fair either. However, that’s that.

There wages are fifty percent. Due to corona. No?

They should take it to high court

Stack will be at West Coast next year

The thought has crossed my mind, but I am not so sure.

On one hand, he is from WA. His manager is an inaugural Eagle who also manages Jake Waterman on our list. Waterman is out of contract this year, so you know he and the club are in conversations about Waterman's contract. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a conversation about Stack while those contract conversations are happening. I also think we would probably think "well Liam Ryan was in a similar positions to Sydney when they were the same age and he has come on in leaps and bounds in the last 12 months after a rocky first 12 months.

On the other hand, we already have 1 extremely talented player on our list who is currently suspended. With list size cuts we can't have 2. Also, West Coast can be risk averse these days. A lot of that is due to the issues the club had in the mid 00's.

It is also not a given he would want to come back to WA.

Can't see it happening to be honest.

Different times.

AFL season, and industry are hanging by a thread.

AFL/QLD are right to be filthy with Stack/CCJ for putting the season at risk.

Richmond are right to be filthy with them for receiving a 100K soft cap penalty, and seemingly having to cop the fine now that AFLPA has come out and put a line through the idea of the players paying it.

What that does to Stack and CCJ in terms of their relationship with the club, staff and fellow players will be very interesting.

It feels to me that the breach is one thing, but the club asking the players to pay the fine, and then the players seemingly not paying it is the thing that might make it harder to come back from. It will be a sore point that makes it difficult for the club and players to embrace them and bring them back into the fold.

If Stack/CCJ leave. It will be the disagreement over the fine that puts the nail in the coffin for mine.

How can you move forward and repair the relationship if the two parties have completely different ideas on what being accountable and owning the consequences of your actions look like?

If Stack/CCJ have issues over reimbursing the fine, they will feel entitled to throw the players and club under the bus for no risk to them. That would make their values not aligned with the club and high risk not to mention untenable as a relationship going concern.

I struggle to fathom why the players would feel entitled not to reimburse the club representing all the stakeholders behind it including members and fans

I have trouble with this concept.

Dimma has an accounting background to.

Quick math, 37500 for someone earning 110K is easily payable!!

For starters Stack and CCJ can refuse to pay rent to his landlord and get government backing avoiding eviction without even lifting a finger supported by situation

So if a woman is assaulted in the work place we care, but if she goes to the strippers late at night and gets assaulted it's kinda justified? I don't see your point sorry.

Please don't bring gendered violence into this to try and give your point credence, it's trying to go down the victim blaming argument again and it holds no weight here. How about this, do you have more sympathy for a smoker or a non smoker who gets lung cancer? Probably the non smoker, doesn't mean you don't have sympathy for both but peoples choices affect the amount of sympathy you have. It's not a complex point.

I hate it when oppo trolls, who unashamedly troll the main board, then come into our board and pretend to have a voice worth listening to. In fact, it makes me laugh that they are so stupid to think we can't remember some of the drivel they've posted. Well, we do remember.

Im R C and that's my take

AFLPA has come out and said, no way, it's not happening, they aren't paying.

If they don't pay, Richmond, the players, and footy dept staff would rightfully be quite resentful.

You're right, I am playing out a particular scenario, but it is not out of the question. My primary point was the disagreement over the fine has the potential to be a bigger issue than the suspension itself.

I am happy for the season to be shut down over the AFLPA. Going forward revenue contracts might be conditional on various compliance clause such as those with Messi irrespective of some political group

I think you're using the word troll rather liberally.

Surely we can disagree on some issues in some other place, and yet still discuss other issues with some cordial friendliness.

Maybe you’re right , I do think though If lists are reduced he will be in danger , was really poor for most part in senior appearances , early on he gave up several goals being caught deep HTB ( v Hawks and saints ) with a lack of awareness you’d see in amo club XVIII , since then he lost confidence to get on his bike and kick it , hand balling everything , was given lots of opportunity to breakout but failed to fire . I’m tippiñg his papers would be stamped trade if decent offer forthcoming possibly delist if we need the spot

Time to move on now.Hopefullly club supports both they will need it.We got 2 important games and a finals campaign need everybody switched on players and all staff on same page.I hope our leadership group,Dimma and Benny and Peggy make this clear.
