There are a lot of very stupid people on this board
Very Very stupid
I think you're forgetting Stack's first year and how he is rated by good judges.
Dimma loves his game style, Kane Cornes said he is the best player from the 2018 draft.
Peter Sumich said he was one of the most talented juniors he had seen.
He let himself down this year but he broke up with his girlfriend and was not suited to hub life at all.
His highlight package is already better than most AFL players, pack marks ,great goals and great kicking plus the hard stuff eg Viney.
I expect him to bounce back and finish top 7 or 8 in the B&F.
I've included his highlights from his 4th game Vs Melbourne as a reminder of his talent.

Would you believe 'the biggest draft steal in history'?

No One questions his ability or talent, no one.

I havent commented on Stack since he was flying mid last year and i stated that i still thought he was a risk due to the challenges his life have faced, hence he lived with X for a large part of last year.

Talent and ability dont always translate into 200 game players, thats the reality.

Syd has a make or break season ahead of him, i could only assume the club would support him but also take of the training wheels a little as he needs to own his commitment and behavior. Can he make it, absolutely, will he make it, Im less convinced than i was a year ago, do i hope he makes it, absolutely, his best in a few years will be amazing!

Up to Syd really and as the great Dimma Hardwick likes to say, the proof will be in the pudding!

On the flip side, after a poor second year and a social f**k up, he would be only to aware of how tenuous life as an AFL footballer can be, I'm sure the club has pointed that out, not to mention everyone else, so I'm sure he realises that young players only get so many chances to make it. I reckon he is a more mature kid than he is painted out to be.

I don’t disagree but unfortunately with stack it seems that he seems to get caught in the moment good and bad

It can be at fantastic like when he joined in the war cry in indigenous round in his first season or it can lead to impulsive silly choices like what we saw up on the Gold Coast

It may sound stupid, but I think Stack's 2020 is probably the best thing that could have happened for his career. There was going to be a blip at some stage or another and I'm glad it's out of the way early, in extraordinary circumstances that saw it highlighted, and in a season where it didn't ultimately affect the club's final result.

Another hiccup and it will be the end of his time at Punt Road and most likely in the AFL, but something makes me think that's not going to happen.

But he was great in his first year, struggled in his second (possibly with isolation etc, not on his own there), but other than his night excursion, what else has he done wrong.

Been a few reports of being late to training or drinking around and that’s why he was dropped to the vfl side in 2019 despite decent form

All just rumours but who knows

It was the leadership group that he can thank for not being delisted... he didnt endear himself to teammates or club in hub before the kebab incident, pretty easy to read between the lines.

He kicked some good goals from half back as well. He did well forward, but he really is a gun with the ball in hand slicing through with space in front of him. Such a creative kick seems a bit of a waste in the forward line. He is a better player than Short who just won out B & F from the half back.
I’ll stop short , pardon the pun of agreeing with that. He certainly has the potential to get there , miles from that level as it stands, really hope he gets there and im Pleased and not surprised we’ve given him the chance to redeem

Miles from that level last year, his first year was nothing other than extraordinary. I have not seen Short, Houli or any of our players other than Bolton and Martin do half the things that things he did in that first dozen games. His ceiling is up there with Bolton as the highest at the club, bar the established stars of course.

Stack was running up and down on the same spot when he got dropped. Had run out of legs, like 90% of first year players do, especially with his limited pre-season. Doubt very much that it was to do with drinking and late training, because that is an automatic dropping if not a suspension. I was calling for him to have a spell a few weeks before he was dropped. And I am 100% sure they were just giving him a few easy weeks before bringing him back, because before he got injured in that VFL game, he was killing it in the guts.

He didn't post a nude pic against a girls wishes like Broad, he didn't grab anyones doodle or put his fingers up anyones bum like Short and Vlaustin or threaten anyone with chopsticks ect.
Calling him a social f**k up is just wrong.
Is CCJ a social fk up as well?
Be careful not to stereotype indigenous players.
Young Indigenous players would hate the hub and he was not the only one to break hub rules.

He clearly didn’t call him a social **** up. Just said he had a social **** up.

FWIW the others you mentioned too had social **** ups IMO. Doesn’t make them bad people, just people who made mistakes.

I agree and I everyone is entitled to make a mistake.
Stack will pay us back big time next year I feel.
He can nail down the half back flank I think.

Who knows what goes on behind closed doors tbh
I absolutely rate the kid but both last year and this year there have been so many rumours alluding to some issues with professionalism that it would be almost silly to just write them all off
