The Herald Sun has reported that the AFL has confirmed to them that both CCJ & Stack are able to play in preseason and VFL games before their suspension ends. A good little win.

I’d totally agree, if they’re both very eager to prove themselves and put in the hard yards this could be a great opportunity to prove themselves and fight to be close to selection at the end of the suspensions.
I genuinely think CCJ will be our back up ruckman next season and will even have the chance to play alongside Nank if we decide to have two rucks.
With Markov and Higgins both leaving the club I think that assists Stack to try and work his way into the team whether that’s down back or up forward.
I think CCJ could slot into a second ruck role but it is not a foregone conclusion by any means. Our backline seamed to work best late season when only one of Balta and Astbury were down there, and Balta did some great things in the ruck in the GF.
I think the club will make a concerted effort to play CCJ and they should do, but this could also well be as a forward by resting Jack or even Lynch at times.
I am surprised if Stack doesn’t return to something closer to his best, and that is good enough to force his way into the team in any one of a number of roles.

As much as there is celebration for the team plan, the versatility that Geelong uses for resumption from dead balls has merit and was adopted by the Tiges in the GF namely a key backline and a deep forward assisting the one on ball "central" ruck.
