And how long do you think the appeal process takes?
Mate WA laws are a joke and your prisons have a shocking record on Indigenous issues.
There's no virus in Vic, SA or WA , what we have here is a show trial designed to deter others

Who in their right mind would touch down in the Adelaide airport and then go into 14 days quarantine. I think it was imposed when the outbreak in SA hit about 5-6 weeks ago. Probably 28 days had to pass, which probably was close but not quite there yet.
Therefore he deserved all he gets. Madness.

Hundreds breached Victoria's quarantine, in far more serious circumstances that Stack, during a major outbreak and received a slap on the wrist of a fine.

Most flights have the 1 stop atm, for Melbourne to Perth, it’s either Sydney or Adelaide

Very few direct flights

Said his attitude is way off the mark, have a look at the original comment

Did I disagree with you about his attitude? No, I disagreed with your description of him as looking like Relton Robert’s.

So not really sure why your trying to call me out 1000 posts later.

Can't comment on how many flights were available the day that Stack had to fly, but there are plenty of direct flights to Perth now

They are the rules, they are the same ones that would apply to anyone else in the same situation

He should of just gotten over himself and stayed with his grandmothers place like he was meant to and he wouldn’t be in this situation it’s as simple as that

the issue isn’t so much leaving his grandmothers but being out on the piss, do you reckon we would be having this discussion if he was tucked up in bed at the other house at 1-40 in the morning? Do you reckon the cops would have said hey Sydney was going toisolate at this house but he has gone to another house let’s nail him.

no he was on the piss at northbridge which is a popular night spot in Perth got into a blue and the cops arrived, otherwise we would not be having this discussion

It’s twofold I guess and two breaches of the protocol

The first was leaving his grandmothers place and relocating and staying somewhere else and than the going out on the piss

If he had just stayed in and completed his isolation at the 2nd address I doubt he would of been found out

It would be very interesting to find out what the initial disagreement with his grandmother was in the first place to cause the falling out
Imagine if it was because he wanted to get on the piss and go out partying and she didn’t want a bar of it so he went to other family members who wouldn’t of cared what he did

Might also be the best thing for him
No mates in his ear or temptations to have a couple of drinks

Just time to really think about how he ended up in this situation and how lucky he is to have a job that others could only dream of

Use it for some proper self reflection without the influence of others and really assess what his next steps will be
when I offered the advice of "tone things down", it was ridiculed, like he was supposed to lock himself away and sob, well look how things turned out now, my advice was to PREVENT exactly this. No, I'm not claiming anything, it was quite common sense advice IMO, probably same advice as his grandmother gave him, who knows.

Now, he's going to be in solitary confinement (how I read it), you may think that's good for him but based on my experience of my stay in hospital, this could be real bad. It's called cabin fever, after the surgery, the tumour was removed so I can't "use the excuse" well my brain was not quite right, tho it was still recovering, reconfiguring itself. I found that with NOTHING to exercise my brain it was incredibly hard to cope. Physically, I could do squats, pushups, ...etc...but I HAD to exercise my brain, I felt compelled to escape to get back to home and....work!! (no, not to go out on the town and get pissed). I was caught a few times (when I was still learning to walk again!) and in the end they put me in the furthest corner of the building (East Ward 2nd floor, the Alfred), in a room by myself WITH a minder, I kid you not. I begged them to get me books of sudoku, went thru 4 of them (hard level).

My point is if you isolate someone, with nothing to challenge/exercise/occupy their mind, you might actually bore them to death (ok, bit of mayo here). Now I can't offer anymore advice here but maybe videos of game tactics for him to study ? might not be his cup of tea...dance clips ? who knows...sounds ridiculous but might work....whatever, just don't leave him there with NOTHING to do, that's the worst option IMO.

Absolutely if he had stayed at the second house instead of going out and getting on the piss and blueing nothing would have occurred, and if he had just gone on the piss and no blueing I’m reasonably sure the cops wouldn’t have got involved. generally when you get on the puss and behave they rarely get involved but when you start blueing well then you’re open slather, and do you reckon kebab gate would have been picked up by the cops if the blue hadn’t started?

stack needs to sack wa for the next decade. seriously what an absolute shithole. moe by the sea

his parents and good mates can visit him in vic

only way he stays out of trouble imo

nailed it

If anything it just brings up the question how many other times has he broken rules without being caught

Maybe it was the reason why he was dropped in the first place in 2019 despite decent form on field
Gone out on the piss, team mates found out and club imposed suspension to the vfl

Where he's going is like a remand where they have specialist management units for vulnerable and new prisoners to help overcome those issues.
He will have better access to facilities than 99% of quarantined return travellers in Australia.

Because of a stopover in adelaide, Stack has to spend 2 weeks in prison, what an embarrassing joke this country is.

No stopover equals no prison right.
I would say Stacks inability to follow simple instructions and also stay off the piss is the reason he is in prison

Didn't he turn up to preseason training with a black eye and an excuse that it was an accident mucking around?

Back.

Contracted Richmond player. Cutting him loose while he is at a low ebb should not be on the table.

I don’t care how good he could be. Whether he takes the field for us again is the last thing on my mind. Number one priority is Stack’s welfare.

Get him back to Melbourne if we can. Move him in with a settled older good influence associated with the club if at all possible. Tee him up the a good psychologist. Hopefully instil a couple of life lessons before his contract ends.

It was very unfortunate that COVID and all the pressures that came with it happened in such a crucial year for Stack. Impossible to know whether he would have still gone off the rails in a normal year.

I love that our club is prepared to give a go to people from difficult backgrounds. We rightly celebrate the Picketts but we must not cut and run from the Stacks.

If we have to part ways with Stack it must be at the end of the contract and after we have done everything we can to put him on the right track.

LOL, a rich celebrity wouldn't be put in prison for the same crap let's be honest.

Stack is basically the definition of a rich celebrity I don’t even know what point you are trying to make

Are the rules stupid? Yes.

But like if the rest of us he needs to follow them or else be prepared to face the music if he gets caught

All he had to do was stay at his grandmothers house for 14 days and stay out of trouble

Interesting he didn't show up today for the video hearing, so its been adjourned to jan 6, that's why his quarantine was reset.

Not sure why, but maybe if he did he would be out now under someone's care quarantining

Edit - "Hakea Prison does not allow people in custody for COVID-related breaches to leave their cell to appear via video link."

My understanding is that it’s the same for anyone that has been placed into custody during their quarantine period

Apparently there are around 100 other people currently in the same situation as Sack waiting to be sentenced

The degoey excuse, the dog bit my hand, the druggies excuse, the dog ate the spreadsheet

Amazing this day and age a simple facetime on a tablet or phone wouldnt suffice

"Magistrate Jennifer Hawkins adjourned the matter until January 6, "given Mr Stack is unable to speak".

I’ve said enough on my thoughts about Stacks indiscretions in this thread. But, i hope he’s watched 24/7 as I genuinely fear for what the kid might do. Clearly his head space isn’t what it needs to be. Let’s just hope he gets through this next piece ok then the Tiges and himself can sort the rest out. Not good news at all.

Yeah i agree 100% definitely seems they are making it far more complex and drawn out than it needs to be
Especially with the technology that is widely available these days
