Anyone who has spent christmas alone knows that it is very depressing.
I don't really care about the football aspect at this stage, I just hope Stack gets through this without any emotional trauma.
Considering that other people have broke quaranteen and spread the virus with no penalty make this even more ridiculous.
Reflects badly on WA.
Paul Peos is incompetent, Richmond need to fly someone over there or get an ex-tiger in WA on the case.
get Ralphy Carr

He will be alright. He is a tough kid. It might drive him mad but shouldn’t kill him. This is unlikely to be one of life’s great injustices. He couldn’t or wouldn’t follow the rules so ultimately enforcement is the right thing.

Besides, I have spent many a Christmas alone. Cooked a nice dinner, read a book, bought myself socks and jocks, sung “Little Dummer Boy,” played a free round of golf at a course of my choice, watched Christmas movies….sometimes a little time spent reflecting without distraction can be good, in the end it matters not what other people are doing at such times. 😁

I feel sorry for all the innocent Australians who didn't break any rules (esp vic & nsw) who are now forced to spend Xmas either isolated or separated from family because of selfish people like Stack breaking the rules.

I've never agreed with harsh lockdowns or masks, but always obayed the rules.

He only has himself to blame and its worse given its his "third" chance.

I am not sure your logic is sound there Bazzar.

What you seem to be saying is:

There are rules purporting to protect the community.

Stack breaks the rules.

Therefore, Stack is selfish.

Whilst the situation doesn’t exclude the possibility he is being guided principally by selfish thoughts, it is not necessarily the case. He could for instance have just made a series of decisions that in isolation seemed harmless and sensible to him at the time, inadvertently overlooking the need to follow Covid rules.

I know someone very well who would do something just like that, never meaning to. At the end of it you ask what were you thinking, how did you end up in that situation, didn’t I tell you never to do X….he says I know, just one thing led to another and didn’t think of what you had told me at the time. Nevertheless, gentle guidance over time has seemed beneficial to him and he has learned to control himself better in certain situations.

Some people’s brains just don’t function in a way that allows them to act properly in all situations no matter how much they might wish it was otherwise. We shouldn’t automatically attribute them with unsavoury motives.

I’m leaning your way but sh!tty way to spend your Christmas. Can’t help but feel for him despite the fact he has bought this on himself.

Twice he's broken quarantine rules. It only takes one person like in NSW now to have a devistating flow on effect.

Stack stopped over in SA, was granted permission on compassionate grounds to enter WA and then broke the rules. Only has himself to blame

All because of one person.

Christmas border closures the 'rotten cherry' on a grim year
Thousands of Melburnians' festive plans have been shattered by Premier Daniel Andrews slamming the door shut on anyone trying to enter Victoria from NSW's "red zones" and hotspots.

Among those caught up in the decision to close the border to anyone from Greater Sydney and the Central Coast are families planning to travel from or to Melbourne and police who are having to enforce Victoria's lockout.

And fears the virus will spread south are playing havoc with the already delicate mental state of some in Melbourne after the city endured months of lockdown during its second wave.

Not saying it is anyone else’s fault, just that we shouldn’t automatically attribute him with selfish thoughts and motives.

In the Marlion Pickett doco he talks about the role that prison had in his change of attitude. He said that without prison he would not have been able to change. I hope the same is true for Sydney.

Young people up her in Mildura have been flaunting the rules for months. 5 cases total, no community transmission. Even the cops have just been warning partying kids and giving them an hour to finish and move along. Common sense policing. Way different in Melbourne where the majority did the right thing because they had to. Kids just can't see it. It would be similarly hard to follow the rules in WA, life is going on pretty much as normal. Stack was putting nobody in danger, just wasn't following the rules.

Stack stopped over in a hot spot. Quarantine rules are in place for a reason. He broke them.

Just recently a WA magistrate gave a FIFO worker who cracked it over madnantory quarantine the option of 14 days in a hotel at his expense or 14 days at Hakea, naturally he chose the first after reflection.

Maybe Stack would have been given the same option if he appeared before the magistrate yesterday.

Reckon a bloke like Liam Jurrah could give Stack a clear perspective of what life could be like without AFL and what thats like to live with.
Jurrah played nine more games than where stack is at now, he came through the same draft as Rockliff who only just retired and got 204 games in a 9 year career.

One things clear, the way Stack is approaching his opportunity isnt working

And how did Melbourne go when they got rid of him?

Similar to Carlton getting rid of Fev.

Offloading highly talented players is dangerous.

One rule for the billionaire class like Forrest and another law for poor people and indigenous.

How good is democracy going?

Some people operate on a different wave length to you or i...take a walk in Stacky's shoes for a while before you slag him off...

And I'm not pretending to know all about Stacky's situation...
Nether am I. What I do know is he broke quarantine rules three times. The first cost the club 75 thousand dollars. The second time was dumb and he was let off, third time is inexcusable.

How hot in SA? No Covid for about a month, their hot spot had 33 cases in total. They locked down for 3 days. Stack didn't get out of the airport.

No idea why Stack didn't appear in court, more bad advise I'd say. The first being told to fly via Adelaide Airport.

I know the rules are the rules are the rules.

Doesn't matter how hot. The WA government has declared it a hot spot and mandatory quarantine must take place. That's the "rules" Stack agreed to those rules when he was granted entry on compassionate grounds. He broke them.... end of story.

The current NSW cluster is suspected of coming from an airport.

Have a frank and honest discussion with him and let him know that they will cut him straight away if he diverts from getting his life in order. I think the biggest threat would be that he would be cut mid year and not allowed back at the club again. He has a huge ego and he needs to be told that if he keeps going the way he is going then he will be forgotten to history. Instead of being remembered as that great player, he would be remembered as some guy that had a good year then did nothing more.
