Just out of interest

If Sydney Stack was not indigenous and he was a white Australian named would all the same concerns regarding his incarceration be spoken about or the same leeway be warranted by some !

Sydney Stack has now been at the club 2 years after coming from a troubled junior season and has been provided with alot of support from coaches players and staff and has continued to make the same mistakes and put people off side even before the kebab gate fiasco.

Stack loves the attention and is always seeking it which does put alot of people including some of our players off side, He will be hurting now and regretting 'getting caught' but not too sure he will be regretting actually doing what he did.

I have issue's with his attitude and his preparation and his inability to maintain focus on his career and tow the club line, His reason for heading to WA was for the death of his grandfather or the funeral depending on which story you read but soon as he gets there his focus was on his new years celebration and going out on the town and partying on as well as fighting 'again'.

This brings me to the question about kebab gate , Was it stack the led CCJ astray ? Will he continue this way ? Will he drag other young players in his ways ?
What confidence do we have he will actually learn , grow up and focus ? Will we be repeating this every year ?

Dont think any player or coach should have to be burdened with the responsibility of 'taking care' of stack living with him and having to worry about his mistakes and having to be burdened with covering up for him.

Is he that great of a player that we need to go through all his growing pains , I personally dont think so
He is a good player and potentially an elite talent but alot need to go right and alot of growing up and maturing needs to be done from stack.

I will be surprised if stack has a career t Richmond or in the AFL in 2-3 years time

Good luck to him whatever happens

I think he needs to find something else to take the discipline of footy off his mind in his time away from the club that is productive for his growth, makes him happy and serves is interests reducing his need to do other things.

It might be hard in a covid scenario. Does social media interest him? He might need something adventurous outside of footy take his mind off getting on the plonk

Getting sick of self righteous posters shooting this kid down. He’s a 20 year old easily led kid who’s made a few mistakes now. Compare what he’s done to other 20 year olds in our society and most would realise that while yes, he didn’t follow quarantine rules as he should have, he is far from being a bad person. Got involved in two fights, but the first, he and CCJ were set upon by a drunk and he was acting in self defence. And we are yet to learn the full facts for this latest confrontation where he could possibly have been defending a mate again?
He’s a kid from a troubled background who was always going to hit hurdles along the way. As Sumich said, he’s going to make mistakes but he doesn’t lie and acknowledges the mistakes. Hopefully he will keep learning in life and mature.
But supporters hanging the kid and calling for his sacking is just being judgemental without knowing him closely and all of the facts. The Club is in a much better position to make a call on Stacky than any of us.
Cue the attacks😬

No Sorry that was relevant when he was drafted but after 2 years in an afl system being taught about whats acceptable and what is not and what the implications of his actions are on the club and community as well as himself and his team mates is pumped into these kids at every chance the club gets.

Also these guys are getting paid bloody good money $150k plus which the other 20 year olds dont have the privilege to earn
There are also many 24 years olds in the community that makes mistekes do will continue to excuse them until he is 25 ?

Its the clubs choice but sometimes some guys just wont change and there have been more that fall out than conform

So just because he’s been at an AFL club for two years, you think he should be mature beyond his years and never make a mistake again? Geez, you must have had a mature head at his age Mate!
As I said, he was always going to slip up at some stage. Dusty was the same but he’s matured and generally does the right things now, although associating with that bloke in Sydney last week may not have been his best move in recent times.

No but expecting him to atleast be able to carry our acceptable levels of behavior, Is that really too difficult to ask as there are over 200 kids similar age that after 2 years of intense education learn what is acceptable .

NOTHING like Dusty , Unless there are incidents that dusty was involved in that i am not aware it was only a player with similar issue's to stack that led dusty astray in his 1st year (dan Connors and sleeping pills episode)

Love to hear the times Dusty has been arrested and locked up

SA is hardly a hotspot. They just had 50,000 people go to the cricket over three days. Was the quarantine really because he spent 1 hour in Adelaide airport on the way over? That’s absurd!
So you're personaly determining SA isn't a hot spot?

I thought that was the decision the WA government was making.

Fact- when Stack went to WA the government had declared it a hot spot and quarantine was "mandatory"

I'm assuming you're one of the ones who would disregard the state law to suit yourself.

Agree to disagree. He was always going to have issues and may have further incidents but I’ll back him in to mature and change his ways as he matures.
His personality on face value is “out there” so he may always encounter difficult situations but maturity may see him deal with them more appropriately, or at least I hope so 🤞

According to the above article - A Perth magistrate has adjourned the matter until January 6 as the prison's quarantine policy prohibits Stack from leaving his cell to speak to the court via a video link during his isolation period.

Unless the procedure is different that you are talking about, it seems it was out of his hands, 14 days quarantine courtesy of WA.
That was his managers comment. It was false

Today a spokesperson for WA's Department of Justice said-

"Prisoners at Hakea did not have their quarantine periods reset unless they returned a positive COVID-19 test or were subject to an emergency order imposed by WA Police.
Prisoners subject to quarantine are isolated in their cells, where they can receive meals, medical and other services, provided with the appropriate protections in place," he said.
"They cannot receive social visits but can make telephone calls and are allowed out of their cells to exercise on their own for up to two hours a day.
"Quarantined prisoners can make video-link court appearances, done in accordance with COVID-19 protocols."

Actually, if you read the article in The Age, it was not his Manager claiming he could not appear via video link, it was the reporter. Not sure where he got his information from if what you’ve posted is correct🤔

Manager/reporter so what.

Fact is he was allowed by law to appear before the magistrate.

Got to draw the line at some point
He’s now ****ed up majority twice and for doing the exact same thing
He isn’t learning and it sends a terrible msg to the rest of the team and especially the younger players who are busting their ass and doing the right thing

I’ve done worse than this many times over in life. I don’t think it’s worth losing a young mans career.

Um... how many times have you broken state based quarantine laws in a pandemic? (For the third time)

He’ll be on a tight lead in 2021. Work through his grog problem (insert Liam Ryan) and he will sizzle. He needs to get of social media to. He isn’t mature enough for either the drink or Instagram shit.

The courts will give him his right whack and then he’ll get reamed by the club. Came back unfit with plenty of question marks and has let down the Tiger brand. Will be interesting to see what they do...someone mentioned a 2021 suspension and play magoos (maybe half the season), seems harsh but fair. Bloke is getting his reality check.

I don't understand how Sydney had to quarantine just because of an Adelaide stopover but we had a barrage of people from New South Wales coming into Victoria a couple of days ago and no requirement to quarantine. This just does not make sense.
