Mick Ablett mentions in a article that they took Stack into the elite under 16 program in wa even though they knew he was troubled and thought they would give him the support and would work with him to mature.

Looks like he has been getting football support for over 4 years now and his attitude has not changed , How long can you continue with accepting his crap and at what cost to the club ? Last thing you need is this type of misbehavior creeping into the culture and younger players.

He has very good football talent but he is not there yet and in all honesty im doubting he will ever reach that level due to his focus and work ethic

I haven't been keeping up with this. Has the club said they will stick with him or is that still up in the air?

last statement I heard from the RFC was that they were aware of the situation etc

unless I’ve missed it, have not heard...I guess the club wants all this to play out first before making further statements / taking action...fair enough

Cheers.

Initially I thought his time was up but the couple weeks in jail over Christmas might be the best thing for him in the long run. I reckon give him one more chance. Make him come back to Melbourne asap and stay here. Tell him he's gone if he even shows up late to a session.

Because the matter is before the courts the Club is keeping its powder dry. Stack's Manager, Peos, has said the Club has been active behind the scenes supporting him though. Could go either way for him really.

If he is axed it will be Bazzar’s fault for writing bad things about him. 😍

Everything bad is Baz's fault - isn't that what we signed on for when agreed to the BF site rules?

I dont buy that bullshit

How long does our duty of care have to be for ?
We gave him a chance when no other club would and gave him an opportunity to develop himself both as a footballer and as a person
We have paid him decent money and resigned him to a better contract. We have given him another chance even though he has transgressed in the hub and could have put our entire season at risk. We gave him another opportunity and again he has transgressed.

We will support him until his contract is finished and help him with what issue's he has but once the contract is finished and we decide that he has no more credits 'IF THATS WHAT RFC DECIDE' then we dont have any more duty of care as we have done whats possible.

There has to be a time he takes responsibility for himself
Magnificently said...

He's featured in the latest player guernsey number list the club released today. Probably points to him staying. He's still #44.

Officially removed from any future Jury Duty :D ;)

You believe you know all that, I'm wanting to wait to hear that the Club has the full and complete picture.

Sounds like the worst case scenario, legally at least, is he'll pay his fine and any court costs and walk out of there and suddenly be free to do as he pleases within the the confines of the WA state laws. Legal situation over - Club situation begins.

Look, it may come to pass that you are correct, but if you were in Stacky's shoes I would hope they (the Club) give you Mr Tackle Bag (new recruit) the full and complete opportunity to clear your name and your deeds if in fact there were circumstances beyond your reasonable control. Situation equal!
Situation equal? Are you kidding? This guy just shit on the club after the club have given him multiple chances. Piss him off!

Don't think he has 'shit on the Club' as you eloquently put it - made some significant personal mistakes yes, one that cost the Club and probably himself a not inconsiderable sum (he and another). I guess that's what you call 'shit on the Club' though.

The comment 'situation equal' was simply putting someone else figuratively in Stack's shoes. Had nothing to do with you.

I call shit on the club... repeat offending.

Recruited by RFC when no other club would touch him... Chance 1.
Came back from WA in shit condition for preseason 2020..Chance 2
Souvlaki incident..Chance 3
WA warning for Covid breach.. Chance 4
WA Covid breach again and jailed.. Chance 5 and also reported he was in terrible shape for 2021 preseason.

Yes I call that shitting on the club.

Also came back to preseason with a blackeye and implausible excuse.

I doubt Cotch and the senior players would be as forgiving as a few here.

Bugger me dead. The bloke is 20, and from a really unstable background. He also built some good credits:

- by playing at a very high level his first season, proving beyond doubt the level of which he is capable
- by busting about three guts to get into good enough conditions to even get picked in his first short pre-season
- by playing with no regard for his personal safety at all, something not many young players can do
- by bringing a brilliant cultural contribution with his pre match tribal dance in the Dreamtime 2019 match.

Was he sh!tting on the club when he went above and beyond any normal expectation for a first year player in doing all those things? Of course not.

Now I have no idea of whether Stack is disruptive or troublesome behind the scenes or whether he has done other things we don’t know about. But I know this, when weighing the value of anything, you consider the whole picture. Otherwise you would look at Matthew Richardson’s shank shots at goal and say he is sh!t because of that.

Based only on the limited things I understand about Stack’s conduct, he needs to learn to manage certain things better but there are not issues there a mature strong club should not be able to deal with. Like a lot of young blokes he needs to get his mind on the job but at 20, he has time to master that. As Mifsud said, there comes a time when you go too far for people to want to persevere with you. But with the detail and level of indiscretions disclosed to us, for mine that is not where Stack is right now. If you suspect a highly talented player is making foolish errors of judgement prior to about the age of 23, you don’t even consider wiping him before that point, because it is known young males can grow up suddenly around that age.

This is not even worth arguing about. Your logic for keeping him is he should mature by age 23. Using his current behavioural example we can expect another 5 or 6 offencences. Had he not been talented, he'd already been gone.

Time to cut him lose.

I’d be happy to cut him if it was up to me, but what I think will happen based off nothing but my gut feel is they’ll publicly back him and put him on a very short leash with one last chance to redeem himself with an extended suspension and come end of next season when his contract expires not offering a new one.
It’s a real shame his off field mentality doesn’t match up with his on field ability.

Really pissed if he pulled this shit again.

But I’d like to see the club give him one more chance.

Not sure if the bloke is interested in doing it, but feel we have the perfect role model for stack to follow at the club already.
Enter Marion Pickett, bloke came from a rough upbringing, spent a decent amount of time in jail, and now has made it all the way back to play in two winning afl grand finals.
I’m sure Pickett could hit him with what reality would be like for him if he can’t change his ways.
Also, kids a mother funking jet and gives me a boo nar nar and hen he’s on song, def want him to come good but hopes are fading fast.

Pickett has been at the club for two seasons now
If he was going to listen to him he would of pulled his head in already
