I couldn’t imagine Richmond would have the capacity to sign him for more than 300k.

Stack will get the same deal as Balta , Kid is loving life amongst the indigenous boys at Richmond and with Pickett coming he was the kid with the biggest smile on his face at the airport.

Sentimentality aside, on the talent he’s showed so far he’d be worth 500k (perhaps more) on the open market.

Doubt Richmond would have budgeted more than 300k pa for his next contract. That’s a big gap.

IIRC Walsh will be getting 500k after his rookie contract finishes, so he’ll likely get more over 4 years, but it’s an interesting anomaly.

Perhaps if draftees stay at their original club they should be able to vary their second year of their draftee contract.

So poaching clubs wouldn't get the advantage but retaining clubs would be able to leverage it to extend for extra years.

I do like that in the NBA. Players have max 3rd to 6th year contracts, and get more if they stay.

The kids going to be a jet, but he also comes with an element of risk. Will be signed for 2 years on approx $200K pa. If he proves himself over this time, he will see a very nice pay day on his next contract.
