It’s funny how all the NGA’s are lumped in together

You could do 2 laps around the outside of Victoria and still not take as long as driving from Perth to where our NGA regions are

Not sure who your navigator is but Peel is only about 40ks south from your training facilities at Cockburn.

you have picked one part of the zone and ignored the other ones that are 7+ hours and 14+ hours drive away.
Still more accurate than your "2 laps around Victoria" claim then.

Haha at least you are honest. Its a refreshing take from all the entitled crap a lot of your brethren are spouting, as thought they deserve the advantages AND MORE for 'saving' the competition.

As though we should all be thanking Sydney because Heeney isn't playing League...

I think you would struggle to find many dogs fans who wouldn't have the same attitude as you. ie 'yeah we are fu**en lucky to get this kid and its pretty clearly unfair, but hey, Im not going to complain!'
And thats a ad thing?

What next? You want an AFL club to recruit one of John Hopoates kids and teach them australian rules footy?

The trade ban was pretty harsh I have to admit. If your going to get an advantage than why not use it? Punishing someone for following rules (regardless of how dodgy they are) the AFL put in place was a bizarre move.

Lets just be clear that Sydney never actually did anything with COLA allowances, they just followed dodgy framework given to them. It was a Bullshit system put in place by AFL to give Sydney a leg up to compete and be successful to draw fans from NRL to AFL. You cant argue it worked, but at determent to the rest of the league.

COLA should have just been phased out over contracts and than replaced with a system only for rookies and players below the average AFL wage.

The only reason the trade ban was put in place was because the Swans pinched Buddy from under the noses of the Giants when the AFL wanted a marquee player at GWS to promote the fledgling expansion team.

Aye aye, lads. What do we all think of Sydney's rebuild? They had a super successful period from 2010 to 2018 but then fell off in 2019 and 2020. They've since been able to follow up a 15-7 season with a potential 16-6 one. This two-year transition period helped them usher in new youth talent, did it not? You've got to like what John 'Horse' Longmire is doing down there. The man has a lengthy plan that involves a girth of opportunities; it's kept the club on the straight and narrow.

I'm impressed.

Agree it's borderline unfair

Along with many other aspects of the game, many which benefit Victorian teams. Are you ok with merging some of them so we can have an even fixture and every team plays at their home ground the same amount of times and the grand final is at the home ground of the highest qualifying team?

Alternatively, supporters of Victorian-based teams could once, just once, stfu about it.

You seem to not understand that not having to travel interstate is a benefit for every game of the season EXCEPT the most important game of the season - the Grand Final. For that game it is totally fair that interstate teams have to travel.

Because reasons …

Pretty much this.

Do they draft anyone who doesn't come good? Player development is awesome plus they get the bonus high end cheapies. Blakey is a star.
Dalrymple is just elite. Since we brought him in our ability to draft has gone into overdrive.

Coupled with Beatson's list management to top up with Hickey, McCartin and locking Buddy away they're proving a dangerous combo

Doesn't explain Warner, both McCatin's, McInerney, McDonald, Stephens, Hickey or even Gulden really given every team overlooked Gulden twice before someone bid on him.
Being able to plan your draft strategy years in advance is a massive boost. You would know exactly who you are going to get from your academy well beforehand which means you can draft for needs much more effectively.
