Thought I start up one with Draft Combine starting in Melbourne today. We all know that we will get Tom Mitchell with our 1st round pick. But after that who do we take?

A mature age body in the forward line would be great if we don't get one in Trade Week. Another one is a young ruckman to develop as an understudy to Mumford but needs to have athleticism as well.

What do you think our needs are?

Another quick midfielder would be good. Probably another couple of forward as well (a mid-sized one and a tall man) would also be nice. Depending on what we do with our ruck stocks (will Seaby be traded? will Currie get one more shot) a ruckman may be a good investment.

Really depends on who is kept etc.

Plenty of players under the spotlight.

I say we need probably another 2 quick skillful outside midfielders (that could play midfield/wing/half back), a leading full forward and perhaps another young ruck (if Seaby goes and we let go of Currie).

Another developing tall defender wouldn't hurt either if we have the room.

Couldn't agree more. A mature Full-Forward is they key here, along with those 2 outside runners who can hit a target with any pressure.

We need skilled, quick midfielders and forwards with body-mass to break tackles ala Hodge and Burgoyne for Hawks, Swan or Pendlebery for Pies, Del Santo and Hayes for StKilda.90KG minimum.

Small ask, I know! ;)

You're right. Looking at our mids, only Kennedy has the size, but of course not the speed. But how about Rohan as a potential midfielder? He was 86kg at the start of 2011, and has all the attributes.

Sam Gordon (to be paired with Sam Reid, already a mature body at 197/91)
Shane Kersten (Ditto, slightly more talented)
Josh Tynan (Defensive HBF, Surjan-like)
Nathan Blee (21 year old tall HB with good pace)
Michael Mascoulis (Outside player with a lovely kick, agility and pace, just needs some consistency)
Ahmed Saad (Think he's heading across town, but a lovely small forward. Plays a lot like Varcoe from what I've seen)

Any of those I'll be happy.

What have you heard about Ahmed, is it a done deal?I would have thought GWS would have set their sites a little higher.

Does anyone know this guys height and weight as well as any other information about him?

195cm, 85kg, plays forward and back, was thought all year that he'd go to Hawthorn as a F/S pick in either the 1st or 2nd round but the Hawks have told him that they won't be nominating him (they'll be trading in Gunston and upgrading Breust) has a foot injury and had scans recently to see if it's a fracture (that probably scared Hawthorn off), a big chance to fall to our 2nd pick due to his injury.

THERE was some nice symmetry in one of the ground level meeting rooms in the afternoon, with Xavier Richards, brother of Sydney Swans defender Ted Richards, having a long chat with a Swans official. Xavier, who hails from Xavier College in Melbourne, represented Vic Metro in three games at the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships and played in the Sandringham Dragons' TAC Cup Grand Final win last month.

What round is Xavier likely to be picked up?
I don't see him going before the 30s, probably a fair bit later. He is most likely a 3rd-4th round selection if he gets picked up
