If they've got the talent, even with limited exposure I don't see why we shouldn't pick them. Currie played footy all his life, didn't seem to help him much.

It would have if he got a chance, instead we picked up a gumby for the weagles.

Each time I watched him in the twos he never really impressed me to the point where I thought he was on the verge of seniors. Had enough chances and if he was going to make it he would have pushed passed someone like Seaby, who also hasn't gone anywhere.

Been away a fortnight so if it's been discussed apologies but we need to look at a development ruckman. None of the three are that young and with Currie having departed we need to be looking to put a young specialist ruck into development looking a few years ahead.

I dunno, we seem to do better picking off other teams early work..

I agree. There's a surplus of ruckmen these days. We can let others develop them to an age where you know whether they'll make it or not, and then pick them up for a slightly higher cost, but at least you don't waste years filling a spot on a speculation again.

Re Henry Schade, I've looked at his tape on AFL.com, and he looks good with the ball. It doesn't reveal much about his body work though.
I think we need to focus more on young defenders right now. Looking at our list, from our established players only Grundy (1986), Smith (1988) and Johnson (1992) (too early to count Armstrong) are under 27. We have promising or proven youngsters in all other areas of the ground (except ruck). Although Spangher may yet turn into something good in defence.

IMO, if Brody Mihocek gets to 43 we will take him. KPP at both ends, mainly in defence. Was one of the best in the Tassie Grand Final and knows how to hit a target. Cool head and just a great guy in general. Reminds me a lot of Alex Johnson.

I think he deserves another shot at AFL level but we don't need anymore one paced midfield extractors, besides we got the better son of an ex hawk in Josh Kennedy

I hope he gets picked up by someone, and if us he would be a much better pick than gambling on a kid thats so far down in the draft anyway..

Just before his fall from grace, he was the emergency for the Hawks in the 2008 grand Final so he wasnt far off and that was with a pretty heavy drug problem..
He has made a big mistake and paid for it with all the world to see, he came back from that and is banging on doors with something to prove, he had a very good year in the VFL and with a solid pre season he could be very handy..

Dont underestimate his genes, they are what legends are made of, just like Kennedy.

I am of the opinion we will take a mature player with our last pick in the draft, most likely a left field selection like Spangher was last year.

Unless it's someone who can come into the team and inject immediate pace and outside run (hello Malcom Lynch), I'd be suprised as we already have enough players of average ability (or yet to reach potential), competing for spots in all areas of the ground.

We'd be better off taking the best available young players with a view to finding a couple of gems that will be ready to play in a few years time

What are the chances of re drafting Heath.

If the draft is weak and we removed a fair chunk of our 1st year rookie list there is some space available. He certainly seemed to have some fire to his game in 2010?
he was asked tp train with us, so it depends on who falls. I assume he will be picked with our PSD pick

I would have thought they'd be looking at a rookie spot for him. What was the point of delisting him otherwise?

I dont know if this is the right place or not because its just a rumour but i have a friend who is friends with Will Johnson recently delisted from St Kilda and he posted a photo on his social media page of WJ walking out of the AFL building captioned "Signing a contract with Sydney"
