Such a crazy time…

We have so much momentum and are playing our best footy of the year.

JPK, Parks & Buddy proving the old guard still has it.

George, Lizard (and even Bell!) are showing you never write off a whipping boy.

Big Tom Hickey is running and slotting them from 50.

Errol is golden and must be short odds to win the Rising Star.

Hayward, Lloyd, JMac, Dawson and McCartin are in career best form.

And there are contributors across the park … Fox, Wicksy, Ramps, Paps …

We’ve found a system and structure that works!.

(Who was that expert who had us finishing 18th!?)

Just have a gander at our last 3 results…

vs West Coast, WIN by 92
vs Dogs, WIN by 19
vs GWS, WIN by 26 (after trailing by as much as 35 points)

What an insanely unexpected season this has turned into!

Now put all that aside and consider this…

We cannot even be sure when or where we’re playing next week .

We don’t know if 2 of our best performers (who are not carrying any injuries) will be available for selection.
Hell, we can’t even be sure we’ll be playing Freo!

But one things for sure. If the fixture proceeds as planned we are coming for those bloody Dockers this time around.

And with or without Mills and Cunningham it’s payback time. I’ve rarely been more confident of a win. And if it’s at GMHBA, God help the men in purple.

Swans by 40!

Up the bloods!!!!!!!!!

No chance it’ll be in Victoria.

Lions look the more vulnerable due to injury but 5th isn't a huge improvement.
Port a game ahead but a loss by them and good wins by us could see us overtake them.
As 🐴 would say, concentrate on what you can control. Win every game on the way home and what will be, will be.

We need port and brisbane to have a hiccup or two for the remainder of the season so we can make top 4 and have a loss somewhere. We might have a 2017 situation where we run outa steam by Finals
Last round Brisbane play the Eagles and Port plays the bulldogs. Might be the final minute before they slip up

If we had beaten Port a few weeks ago we would be in the top 4 today
This has certainly been a year of surprises ….

That’s true, but when I compare where we are right now with where, at the end of last season, I thought we’d be right now, my smile is quite large.

Worst case, assuming Mills, Cunningham and COR are unavailable - we probably go in unchanged.

Bell was quiet. Obviously Rowy and Stephens weren't amazing but excusable. Felt that Stephens hit a few good passes, did muck things up a few times too or could have impacted more.

Hard to see where the INs are coming from without a VFL match and in the positions we need them. With the 3 above being our best small/med defenders (Fox aside), we probably need to figure that out. Early vs GWS there just wasn't the pressure in D50, although getting torn apart further up the ground was the main issue. Florent and Dawson spent more time in defence/defensive side of the wing, so probably keep being the options there.

Haven't heard anything from the scratch match, but if conditions are good wherever we're playing, and he was decent, wouldn't mind McDonald coming in for Bell. That way if we're struggling down back, the likes of Hayward and Heeney can chip in, and we still have multiple marking/lead options up fwd. Again unsure about the scratch match, but probably back Rowy and Stephens (with a light training week) over the likes of Clarke, Taylor (if he played) pushing in.

The thing about Stephens yesterday is that I thought he had more of the ball than he actually did, which to me tells me that he had a bit of influence with his 12 disposals. I liked what he did with the ball, he just needs to work out a way to get 20 disposals instead of 12, but the 12 could easily be chalked up to playing a game yesterday so I am not going to hang him for that. I do like Stephens though, and feel like he will become a good player.
