Really hope we see 2020 rowbottom this week after the bye. Looked like a kid who has not been playing 100%

Of all players he needed the bye the most. Looked half fit and tired

We would rather allow goals, or give attempts, and whinge about the disposal of your best FB available. Maibaum was good defender but, but, but.

Half of our defence can't defend 1 on .

We seemed to defend fine in the first quarter of a season…it’s team defence meaning our useless mids can stop giving up clearance after clearance and putting defenders under pressure

I for one am glad to be going to the game so I don't have to listen to this half of the quad.

I don’t mind Dunstall he’s better than Eddie

Game-day commentary he's ok, just can't help thinking of him and Bounce.

Don’t listen to Bounce so don’t care what he does there

Knows his stuff that’s all you want as a commentator

Swans Instagram stories has some shots from the training, they were doing some sort of match sim with some assistants (Kirk, Cox, Mathews, McVeigh, and I think Charlie Gardiner?!) making up the numbers of the B side wearing white. You can see Stephens, Gould, O'Riordan, McLean and Rowbottom(!) pulling on the white bib for the B side. Brand and Taylor didn't put any on.

I think we've found out from previous weeks that bibs, caps, vests etc don't necessarily translate to in/out at selection. It could always mean something else, like mostly an A vs B side, but someone on the A side is going to do a tagging role and they throw someone over to the other side for a harder training matchup.

remember a few years back we were trying to id players by the colour of their boots?

Very interesting re: Brand coming in without a defender dropping out. Suggests Hewett might be finally moved from defence. Either to the midfield with perhaps Parker playing forward more or to the forward line himself to reprise his debut year role at HF.

Dawson played the final quarter against Hawthorn on a wing so I guess that is another possibility but unlikely I imagine.

You can tell Longmire's emphasis by the INs and outs this week. The main one being Macdonald out for Brand. Gulden on for Wicks is like for like. But to send a key forward out for a key back trumpets a total defensive mindset.

I think the three talls would have been very beneficial against Port, who are a little undersized in defence. But not to be. This now puts far more pressure on Amartey and Franklin. Franklin has never been a pack mark specialist and for a few weeks now we have seen him in that sort of role. Not his forte. As far actually taking a pack Mark it will be left to Amartey and Hickey

Maybe Fox just to general defender role. 3 "tall" backs vs 3 tall fwds. Cunningham maybe more an upfield role - he'd be ideal for Amon.

Pack marks? Most effective i50s this season have been medium kicks to leads or one-on-ones. Bombing to packs is not a typical forward entry.
