After 5 wins on the trot, and a gutsy and exhilarating win against the Bombers, the Swans are the form team of the comp. And they finally got reward by jumping up to 5th on the ladder.
However, with Port hanging on against the Giants, that elusive top 4 spot remains just out of reach. So the team must keep winning ... this week against the Saints who have strung together a 3 game streak of their own (albeit losses )
At one point of the season, the Saints were the darlings of the competition. A team of pace and youth who were ready to make a run toward a long awaited finals push. That dream seems a stretch now after the Blues toweled up the boys from Morrabin on Friday night.
Tonight, they sit a lowly 13th , and though still mathematically a chance, their lowly percentage and tricky run home might have them focussing on next year.
For Swans fans, 2021 must already look like a dream come true.
We've had 13 wins already, our injury list is tiny, and with 3 games left the only question is how high we'll climb.
The kids have been great, but late season form from guys like JPK, Parks, Millsy and Paps have fans of the red and white daring to imagine the impossible.
We're hitting form at the right time. And boy no amount of hardship or uncertainty seems to rock the boat. The team is a gutsy, fighting colossus.
I can't see the Saints troubling us too much,
