In Sandy's 69 point victory over Williamstown.

VFL Seniors
Sandringham 6.3 8.10 12.14 21.18 (144)
Williamstown 4.1 7.1 9.7 11.9 (75)

Should be a sure thing to come back in next week, it will be interesting to see how Read went.

Sounds like a very impressive display by Col.

This is exactly what he needed to do to force himself into next weeks side.

I was there. :)

I thought to myself at half time (when Colin only had 1 goal and a few touches) "Geez Sylvia will need a big second half if he wants to play against the Crows." Well his second half was orgasmic... one of the most dominant displays I've seen at this level.

He is a machine!

Also PJ was very impressive in the ruck. I'd bring him in ahead of Jamar next week.

Well done col, i am rapt for him but i do worry. He has bagged seven before and i worry that he may keep getting played forward in the AFL where it is so hard to be consistent. I mean look at milne or harding for the roos. It may take away the fact the col will be an onballer first and a forward second in the big league. You see sooooo many players start forward then develop into midfielders, i reckon col is a midfielder now and just needs to played there and once settle a more significant contribution will be seen with him resting up with neitz, robertson etc...

well with holland in i dont think he will be up forward much. they may aswell play him in the middle ahead of the likes of armstrong and godfrey. Mclean doesnt rest up forward really and gets a much better run in the midfield. i know he has been in better form but i reckon just let sylvia loose in the midfield against the crows

Goal 1: On the run from 45m, straight through the middle.

Goal 2: Great crumbing snap on the left foot from 30m.

Goal 3: Free kick, 25m out.

Goal 4: Pack mark, 30m out.

Goal 5: Mark on the lead, 30m out.

Goal 6: Free kick, 25m out.

Goal 7: Freakish snap over his head after stealing the ball off a Willy player, fending said player away with ease and nailing it from a difficult angle.

I wish i was at the game that would have been awesome. My only concern is that he doesn't show that agression at the AFL level at the moment. I think he could use a couple more games at Sandy this year to get his confidence up, but on the other hand our Midfield seems to be lacking at the moment. Not an easy descision to make!

Read didn't play!!!!

Col was brilliant, though missed a couple of set shots from about 50 that he would have got last year.

With Read missing it would appear we only have a few players applying any pressure to the borderline players in the seniors. I'd like to see a few changes this week but I can't see where they're coming from. Only 9 MFC listed players played apparently, so the pool is small.

Sylvia will be back. Other candidates would be P.Johnson, C.Johnson, Williams, & Hunter. Bate & Dunn will get their chance soon but I don't think it'll be this week.

Hunter or Williams playing would be like playing with 21 players IMO.

P.Johnson is an interesting one, seems to be getting better by the week as a ruckman. I will watch the Sandy game on TV this week to see this progess for myself. Apparently he's getting better with marking, but who knows how much of that is bull****. If he develops the marking part of his game he could be a very valuable player in the future, and if we want a backup ruckman this week I would consider giving him a game.

Sylvia is a certaintly.

C.Johnson will get games this year, but perhaps not yet.

So for changes.
IN: Sylvia, Jamar(if fit)/P.Johnson (if Jamar not fit), Whelan(if fit)
OUT: Godfrey, Rigoni, Armstrong (if Whelan is fit)

Love the way Godfrey goes about it but bottom line is that he can't play football for ****.
Rigoni is a decent bench player but after a couple of poor games he needs time at Sandy.
Arma did just enough to get another go if Whelan is not fit.

He was actually a little relieved. He couldn't get into it in the first half but said he was pumped after kicking seven goals. He couldn't believe it was 7, said he was so disappointed the final siren went, he was just getting into it.
After hearing this i thought maybe a few more games for sandy would do him good, he reckons na you can't beat running out for Melbourne and if the dees were losing by 8 goals every week he'd think the same thing. I'm comin down when they meet the roos so i just hope he is playing and should be some fun later that night. I'll keep you updated, I for one hope he gets a guernsey this week.

Um, sadly your Kangaroos have decided to play us at Manuka Oval. We do not meet twice this year! :(

You'll have to find another game to come to Melbourne for.

I'm sure he'll be back this week, team needs a few changes!

Give him a run in the midfield instead of being up forward all the time. At least give him a go instead of Army or Godders. He would really benefit from the experience in the midfield and maybe even make a significant contribution.
