Miller is harshly critized because we expect so much from him. He was crowned as our next big hope at either CHF or CHB and turned out to be a failure in both positions so far. If he was simply a flanker or winger we'd have just said 'meh' and moved on a couple of years ago and not cared. He wasn't a high draft pick either so he wouldn't have had the Sylvia-syndrome of high expectations despite little performance so far.

The lack of pre-season argument is a bit of a cop-out really. If he was really going to be the superstar we expected, he would be tearing games apart, though in short bursts as he doesn't have the tank to do it all game. I think he will be a very good player and wouldn't trade him but I don't think he'll be a superstar.

I don't think this statement is correct. The pre-season is where all of the gains in the physical aspects of the game take place. His his endurance, speed, strength, agility etc. will improve here. During the season, players do sessions mainly to maintain what they got during pre-season. This is because players can't do overly intense physical training during the season so they are fresh enough to play on matchday. So basically, the pre-season really forms the base of every physical aspect of his game, without this, he's a long way behind the rest of the competition.

I wouldnt want anything from the kangaroos. have one of the worst lists in the AFL and why would sylvia want to go play out his career on the gold coast.

He'll stay. He has shown that, when fit, he can have a real impact on the game. More fitness and extensive time in the midfield will only benefit him next year.

Remember against Collingwood when he stood on the boundary line and Stanley ran at him and he simply stood there and threw Stanley away with ease? With confidence he'll be able to do things like that much more often. We've come too far to give up now.

Although you'll have to sit through a Melbourne win against Collingwood on Queens Birthday.

I'm sure you'd be able to sit through it. :D

Thats a great vid, every year I go with my co-workers (all Collingwood supporters) to the Queens Birthday match, and that one is my favourite.

Sylvia made Stanley look like a clown there.

2008 will show whether he's going to live up to his potential, or just be another player who shows enough glimpses to remain entrenched on the MFC list and loved by fans of 'potential'.
