LOL, fair enough. I have often wondered about helmet laws and the need to protect a brain from sustaining brain damage when that same brain does not appear to be operating at anywhere near full capacity, at least at the point when it chose to ride a motorcycle sans helmet. Is this a brain that we really need to preserve?
Or the ones that wear helmets with a singlet and shorts. If they come off, the helmet isn't going to help them much

Anyway... Back on topic... I read the latest of jimmy's short fiction novel in the sun. Funny stuff

Did he write it himself or get a primary school kid to write it for him? I thought it made yesterday's article look like the Gettysburg Address in comparison. It's like the B side of a one hit wonder's second single.

Yeah from the opening line when he pretended he had no idea what the problem was the day before the press conference (despite it now being public knowledge they self reported in September), I found it particularly amusing

I can't believe how pitiful it is. It's advertised as being on pages 4 and 5. Page 4 is taken up with photos, including a photo of Fat Andy's bulbous bonce, and an ad for some Andy Warhol thing and page 5 includes a photo of *Hird's shoulder and a big-ish ad for the BBL. The rest of the page is taken up with Hirdy's son's "spirited" defence of his Dad. I suspect his Mum helped him with it, though.

I gave yesterday's article 10/10 for sheer Goebel's-like audacity. Today's article is a 1/10. Sorry, youngster.

I wish I had access to the Herald Sun just to read this stuff. But I know that if I did once again just read a bit of it, I would instantly remember why I don't arrange access to it.

It's amazing to see all of these journalists finally taking the gloves off. I guess Hird's cabal of mates in the media must have realised they can no longer control the story with threats and intimidation.

I think you'll find most journo's have held these views for a long time but had to wait for the final judgement to unleash.

In fact,I was lucky enough to have a few beers with our President 2 years ago in a social setting and the absolute disdain he had for Hird and role in the scandal had to be heard to believed. Yet when he had his media hat on he played a straight bat.

Well according to Kochie, 17 other Clubs wanted them to cut a deal.

Is it really all going to be Wonka Land at the moment in the AFL World?

But like I said on the other page; he will reinvent/repair the image and be back in some capacity in AFL by the end of 2017.

This is post #27684

I can't believe that. He had a lot to gain from that.

I don't dispute that many of these people held critical views of Hird, but it just seemed that they were biting their tongue while those who are mates of Hird pushed a company line. And I'm not just talking about Robbo and RoCo. It's the likes of Gary Lyon, Wayne Carey and even Eddie McGuire, who really should have opened up both barrels on Hird after the way he tried to throw Collingwood under the bus.

I hope that a few heavy hitters also take aim at the AFL and AFLPA responses after the CAS verdict.

I strongly suggest you read the Stand by Your Man piece written by Lucie Morris-Marr.
It has to be the lowest point in Australian journalism.
Goddard has just gone bang and rightly so, poor journalism.
Although his hashtag could also be directed at his ex coach.

.@luciemorrismarr You should be ashamed of yourself and your pathetic, degrading article in today's heraldsun #noaccountabilityforanything

You can google translate the text if you wish......but the story is in Norway.

http://www.tv2.no/a/7914303
The translation...
34 players who in 2012 played for Essendon Australian Football League is following a hearing in sport's arbitration law banned from all sports from the 2016 season.

Now the campaigners want their own league!

Its a bloody crack up seeing the blame apportioned by * and its supporters to Dank and Robinson.

One was given a 7 figure payout to 'go away', the other is the architect of the program who they avoid mentioning like a relative in prison. I wonder why that is??

Another thing I find hilarious is * supporters claim the CAS panel was inherently biased. This despite the fact that * got to choose one of the 3 man panel and approve of another along with WADA. Then this panel adjudged unanimously that players were given TB4 and 2-1 that all players received the substance.

Open yer eyes lads.

Yeah well Duck has somewhat admitted to his faults. I don't think the same can be said about Turd. :stern look

And Robbo was saying on 360 that the vote was 2-2 whether they were guilty. Not sure where he plucked the extra panel member unless he thinks James Hird got a vote.

The difference being that Ducks rot traversed many years of which by the end of it all, his media career was dead and buried.

Jimmi has this one stain..outside of this he has still been the clean nose.

The media will fall in love with him again in time. It will be his decision whether or not he takes it up ...but with an ego as big as his I would think he will be back in some capacity in 2017 with odds pointing to the ABC.
