"The minimum suspension will be six months. While there have been suggestions the ban will commence after this season and conclude at the start of next season, for the ban to be meaningful it must include some matches."

That'd be the biggest farce ever. There would be no point to it whatsoever. 2 years for all involved hopefully. Tricked or not they were negligent!

Lol Finey: "taking their premiership points will affect the competition more than not taking them", "it will be pointless to strip their points".

It's the principle of the thing, you dickhead. Sick of the apologist crap.

Give Corey and Chris Grant a Brownlow and I might consider Finey's point. Until then, it's bullshit.

If any part of the ban occurs in the off season, the players would have to be prohibited from having contact with the club or coaches and obviously, would not be allowed anywhere near Tullamarine. Absolutely no pre-season for *essendon.

The player bans will be 6 months & they will be playing again within the first few weeks of next season after a huge media build up on the "return of the lost bombers." Again, minimal disruption to next season, total media saturation. It's all about the $$$.

It will be a huge rip. If the players are banned, the suspension must be during the season for it to act as any kind of deterrent.
That's not going to happen because any ban handed out by ASADA/WADA must be served in competition. So it'll be the few weeks while the final series runs, then resume again when the preseason comp starts next year.

Given their black ops methods i don't trust it!

That is still a few months there. They'd be back playing before the mid season byes. The time should be served during the home & away season = all next season.

If they lost all their points last year and this year, lost Hird and other coaches, lost draft picks and lost six months during high they could not play any football or train, I wouldn't be fussed if the months were mostly in the off-season. Go for the short cut and you have to be forced to take the long way round, and three years basically wasted would be ok by me.

Assuming of course that it hasn't all been a terrible misunderstanding and they aren't in a very good place when the reports and findings and sanctions are handed out.

Missed it this week, but what did he say this time?
Rambled on and on about the Media Sychophants blah blah. It's like he hasn't even actually read or watched anything to do with the story, just decided his view and is so drunk on his own "intelligence/importance" it's pathetic.
Actually makes little sense these days. Just takes a viewpoint and sticks with it, blindly.
Sound *familiar?

It's a good enough reason to avoid the show every week now. I'm past caring what he says about this issue - it's just going to be screwing up his face about "the media" (like he's not in it) again and again.

I've started to avoid it ever since they use live animals in stunts for entertainment. It usually ends up badly for the animals. RSPCA should rail them.

James Hird didn't cheat, he was outsmarted by drug dealers.

The sports scientist at the centre of the Essendon drug scandal, Stephen Dank, used an unfounded allegation about Collingwood using banned drugs to pressure coach James Hird to authorise the controversial peptide program, according to a key witness in the investigation.
Biochemist Shane Charter, who has spoken to ASADA several times, including in the past week, has explained that Dank asked him to verify that the Magpies had been using human growth hormone in order to persuade Hird to get the peptide program ''over the line''.

In his case, a very dangerous practice. The synthetic bits could fall off and expose the giant vacuum behind his forehead.
