I saw on the Ch10 news *essendon have informed the AFL Integrity Unit of these current shenanigans, so no need to worry about anything not 100% squeaky clean going unpunished,

Lol. Was that before being exposed, or, you know, Business As Usual - ie. right after 11pm tipoff call advising them they're about to be in the news again.

Not much love from * for poor old Dean Wallis, after his sterling efforts with spreadsheets, and Thymomodulin labels etc
I liked the line Robson apparently said to Wallis, Im more red and black than you ever have you'd be only a bush hack coach.

Not long after he jumped ship to rid himself of the stench of red and black, slipperier than an eel is Robson.

Over on the * board, they are blaming "part time supporter Slobbo" for this and every other bad article.

Deluded.

The AFL will congratulate Essendon on having the integrity to come forward and report these goings on just 4-5 years after they first became aware of them and only 5 minutes after they found out that all would be revealed on the front page of the Herald Sun.

MELBOURNE underworld figure Mick Gatto says he was approached by someone at Essendon asking him to find out "what was going on" with the supplements saga.

Video of Gatto being interviewed by The Footy Show's Sam Newman in Melbourne on Thursday afternoon has surfaced online before the clip is due to air on the show.

Gatto says he was "embroiled in it" by an Essendon figure.

When pressed by Newman to name the person, Gatto replied "it wouldn't be very professional for me to divulge that".

"They just wanted to find out what was going on with it all and have a feel around," he told Newman in the clip leaked online by entertainment website 15 Minutes of Fame.

Essendon chairman Lindsay Tanner had earlier dismissed the allegations the club approached Gatto, saying they were the acts of bitter former staff.

"Two disgruntled ex-employees have made a number of false and unsubstantiated allegations against the club," Mr Tanner said in a statement provided to AAP on Thursday morning.

"For example, allegations of having dealings with Mick Gatto are false.

"Inappropriate demands and threats made upon Essendon Football Club have been reported to the AFL Integrity Department and on its advice, Victoria Police have been contacted."

The Essendon drug scandal in 2011 and 2012 led to the club being kicked out of the 2013 finals series and 34 players being suspended for the 2016 season for using banned substances.

Gatto had earlier declined to comment on the allegations, telling journalists at a press conference they would "hear all about it" on a television show on Thursday night.

He said he was not being paid for the television interview, but was doing it because they had shown him respect in the past.

"I've organised this meeting today to get you away from my home, (so you'd) leave my family alone."

Mick Gatto reveals sensational news on Essendon drug scandal

March 9, 2017
9:45pm

THE Bombers doping saga just won’t go away — and Mick Gatto has only made things worse.

Gatto has revealed sensational details of his involvement with Essendon in an interview with Nine’s AFL Footy Show.

Gatto was interviewed by panellist Sam Newman and was asked whether he was approached officially by a member of the Essendon club to “try and sort the saga out”.

Not only did the underworld figure confirm his involvement, he also revealed he could potentially have information that proves the club did nothing wrong.

“I did get embroiled in it, I was approached,” Gatto said.

“I was, it wouldn't be professional of me to divulge (who approached me).

“They just wanted to find out what was going on with it all and what I could find out, have a look around.”

Gatto also revealed that he had information that showed the club was not guilty of the alleged performance enhancing violations.

The underworld identity said he was contacted by former Essendon employee Shane Charters, who had “compelling evidence” that the substances the club used were not illegal.

“I was approached by Shane Charters,” Gatto said. “Shane came and seen me and said, ‘Mate, I’ve been hard done by here. I can prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that the supplement that they brought over here, the Themiso 4, whatever it is, I can prove it wasn’t that. It was something else’.”

“He had compelling evidence that it was legal,” Gatto revealed.

Gatto sensationally revealed that he tried to organise a financial settlement for Charters, believed to be around the $800,000 mark, for the hardship the former Bombers employee had suffered as part of the peptide scandal.

“We tried to do a deal with some members of Essendon, we tried to do a deal, he (Charters) wanted to be paid for it, for his hard ship and what he’s been through, they wouldn't hand over,” Gatto said.

The club put out a statement denying Gatto had any involvement with the club, but have since changed tact slightly, saying former club president Paul Little was approached by the underworld identity, but he declined Gatto’s offer to help.

The Melbourne underworld figure had his name linked to the ongoing scandal this morning, when the Herald Sun reported allegations Essendon reached out to the 61-year-old Melbourne identity in the hope he could uncover information relating to the peptides scandal.

The Herald Sun reported two former Essendon employees — including dual premiership player Dean Wallis — made the claim as part of a Worksafe action against the club.

Gatto called a press conference in Lygon St today, but refused to answer any questions on the claims.

“All I can say is two things, be watching tonight and you’ll hear all about it,” he said.

“The second thing is I really have no comment to make and I can’t at this stage.”

He said he called the press conference to get reporters away from his home.

“There’ll be a scoop tonight. Be watching,” he said.

“You’re not going to draw me into it.”

Asked if it was a paid interview, Gatto replied: “No. It’s not.”

In addition to the Gatto revelations, the pair also claimed to have removed emails and covered up fraud, cocaine use and sexual harassment.

“I have been scapegoated in relation to the supplement program, while others at the club have been covering up the use of cocaine, sexual harassment and fraudulent behaviour,” Wallis, also a former assistant coach at the club, alleged in his statement.

The meeting with Gatto was allegedly to obtain information from Shane Charter, the former bodybuilder linked to Stephen Dank who decided not to give evidence to an anti-doping tribunal at the last minute.

“In November 2014 I was asked ... to set up a meeting off-site with Mr Mick Gatto, who was an external well-known dispute resolution specialist,” ex-team services manager John Elliott alleged.

“The purpose of the meeting was in regard to obtaining information from Mr Shane Charter, who was a supplier to Mr Stephen Dank.”

Essendon boss Lindsay Tanner dismissed the allegations as the acts of disgruntled ex-employees.

“Two disgruntled ex-employees have made a number of false and unsubstantiated allegations against the club,” Tanner said.

“Allegations of ... dealings with Mick Gatto are false. Inappropriate demands and threats made upon Essendon Football Club have been reported to the AFL Integrity Department and on its advice, Victoria Police have been contacted.”

Essendon great Tim Watson said he had been aware of the allegations for some time.

“I’ve been aware of this for a while, in as much as I had a conversation with someone at the club and they said, look at some point this may surface,” Watson told SEN.

“This is what’s going on, it’s all broken down and there is a threat that they’ll take the information they have to the press.

“There’s been a breakdown in the negotiations and then there’s been threats about, OK this is the course of action we will take now, from here on in. Not surprising at all (to hear about it).”

Of all the high comedy this latest turn of events is providing, this line from the Leathery One is my favorite.

Not just because Gatto has pretty much backed them up, but because this is pretty much what * was saying about the Weapon right up until they crammed his mouth so full of one million dollars that he couldn't open it to speak any more.

All those lying filthy disgruntled ex-employees. There just isn't enough hush money for all of them.

By the bye...has anyone else been reminded by today's revelations that only a couple of months ago someone unnamed person was shooting up (not, not that shooting up) Dank's house?
No one else but Gatto.

Don't worry guys, it wasn't Peruvian marching powder getting snorted down at *Tullamarine, it was New Peruvian marching powder. Which is, like, totally above board.
Cant go wrong with that shiny new Peruvian :thumbsu:

I guess I shouldn't be surprised by how fast the AFL media circus has decided that the big story here is the alleged blackmail attempts and Essendon is the innocent victim.

Be nice if they realised many of their listeners/readers are going to think whatever the "disgruntled ex-employees" threatened to expose is likely to be much more interesting than the fact they wanted more money to keep it quiet. The real marvel is how many people involved have stayed gruntled.

Waiting for Lindsay Tanner's next bald-faced lie to the public. He's certainly picked up the baton from his predecessors and run with it in terms of focusing only on covering up what happened.

The taint of * - it's enough to make a person even less honest than they were during their time in politics.

Lols at Shane Charters having "compelling evidence" that the TB4, you know, wasn't dodgy at all. Amazing how this compelling evidence never seems to actually find the light of day during numerous hearings...

If Charters does have compelling evidence to prove it wasn't "Themiso 4" then why has been sitting on the evidence and watching * burn? Because they wouldn't pay him out? So * paid *Hird 1 mill but didn't pay the guy that could save them? I call bullshit. If Charters had evidence * would have thrown 'what ever it takes' at Charters to get the info.

You know what everyone? We may have a shocking season this year and not even win a game. We may have another terrible injury run. We may even lose to Carlton, or Brisbane or even, heaven forbid, *essendon (which would obviously happen if we don't win a game). (Oh and Richmond)

But for all of those dreadful travails that we may have on field, one thing stands like stone.

We still have the *essendon football club, based out there at *their *peptide *palace, to laugh at.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

(rubs tears of unbridled joy from laughing eyes!!!!!)
