I love the look of this guy.
Athletic, great hands and hard to match up on. A Riewoldt type player.
I have him in my Dream Team and when i saw that he didn't play last week, it suprised me.
Surely he is in the Hawks' best 22 as they lack tall forwards, but why didn't he play last week?
Will he play this week?

Tim is a tough one, because of his injury history. Still has hardly played any AFL footy, and hasn't even had a full season of VFL footy since his injury.

He's definately on the radar to come in at some stage, and is a promising prospect to have, but will spend some time at Box Hill before walking into the hawk line up.

With Roughead, Franklin, Croad, Williams Dixon playing forward at different occasions, he is probably just behind them in terms of selection, but will definately get some decent game time during the year.

Could end up being a backman considering the amount of developing forwards we have, plus potentially another one in Dowler on the way next year so I think we should seriously look at him playing defence at Box Hill IMO.

i have to say, timmy is something special, but i can see him being one of those under-achievers, who just cannot get his fitness right.

I can see him leaving the hawks, then probably going to a nother club and makign it big, much like Shane Tuck did, but i don't think anyone could see it in tuck, when we can in boyle.

Back to my point fellas.
Why didn't he play last week?
And is he up for selection this week?
In Dream Team terms, should i trade him if he doesn't get a go this week?

There is no reason why he didnt play last week. I thought he would be a definant inclusion because Croad would play this week.

I dont think his up for selection this week, it looks like Croad will be staying at CHF.

I dont think you should have Boyle starting in your 22 for your dream team, but i suspect he would be cheap. He should play next week stick with the kid.

The way I see it with Boyle is he was given every opportunity during the pre season to carve out a place for him in the starting 22 and he didnt do it.

Now he has to fight his way into the team via Box Hill (BH) and as Franklin, Dowler, Thurgood & Munston come on line from injuries, Murphy & Little continue to progress (Little named CHF BH & Murphy on expanded interchange v Collingwood) and Birchall continues to perform in the seniors Boyle's chances may become less and less.

I have seen him at training, looks like he has bulked up, whick is good.

I know he didnt partcipate in contact drills during the last training session before playing Adelaide in the NAB cup in Tassie, but they played him so he must have been reasonably fit but he just didnt fire or inspire.

IMHO it will depend on how well he goes at BH & IFS (Injury Form, Suspension) in the seniors will determine his fate. Personally I think they are waiting for him to show something at BH before giving him another chance in the seniors.

Unless there is an injury I don't expect Tim to play in the next 2-3 weeks.

Can you see what the lotto numbers are for this weekend too please!

I would like to see Boyler at CHB.
He leads too wide when he has played this year in the NAB cup.
So i would like to see him follow a CHF around to gain some confidance

Tim Boyle was recruited to eventually replace John Barker on our injured list and to allow us to test out rookies without placing them on the senior list!

TRUE!

Eventually Dowler will be our CHF. I want Boyle to come in the side, he will have to be tested down back we need to give all our key position players a fair ammount of games for when Franklin and eventually Dowler comes into the side we need to begin to create a spine to build from.

We've got to remember that he's missed more or less two seasons through injury but that it is also two seasons of development. He was a later round pick (50 something) so he was always a bit of a punt on potential that the recruiters saw I'd assume.

Glad to hear he had a good game today but I would really like to see him string together a good run for four/five weeks of similar output. Let him get some real confidence and miles under his belt. No need to rush him at this early stage of the season.
