Got my morning recruiting update from FB this AM:

Dan Vettori for the Heat:)

Tidy pick-up indeed. Gives them two slow bowlers which seems to be almost the recipe these days.

Brisbane list to date is:
Ryan Broad
Nick Buchanan
Daniel Christian
Ben Cutting
Peter Forrest
Ryan Harris
Nathan Hauritz
James Hopes
Chris Lynn
Brendon McCullum (international)
Michael Neser
Daniel Vettori (international)

Might be light on a fast bowler and another 'keeper, depending on how many games they have McCullum for.

You've forgotten one W.Sailor!

Has Sailor really been signed, dosnt appear to be any media on it

Btw, with 1 International recruit left, I think the Melbourne stars will be the team to beat

Wade
Simpson
White
Hussey
Bailey
Voges
Faulkner
Wright
Hastings
Mckay
Pattinson

Tough to beat, especially when you add in a International and Siddle

i thought the renegades had the better side. nannes and tait are match winners with the ball, although can be erratic. hastings/mckay and patto-man aren't necessarily the bowlers that blast batsmen out, but could arguably be more consistent

Stars bowling lineup is stronger as it will contain batsmen and the batsmen will get themselves out to it whilst the Renegades bowlers can blast teams out, they can also leak runs easier

Not convinced by the Stars batting lineup though, surely they can find 1 or even 10 better batsmen than Simpson? Plus the side could do with a proper spin bowler

I reckon Perth will struggle to not come close to last unfortunately.
Really? I would be shocked if Perth didnt finish above the Thunder

Besides everyones favourite player took 5/6 the other night :D Will be the competitions leading bowler

This website (was posted earlier) shows the teams in a more presentable format: http://djr.co/bbl/

Basically though all teams need at least 14 signings out of 18 by Friday when the initial window closes.

Brisbane Heat- 12/18- need 2 more by Friday
Hobart Hurricances- 17/18
Melbourne Renegades- 16/18
Perth Scorchers- 14/18
Sydney Sixers- 12/18- need 2 more by Friday- have 2 international spots available
Melbourne Stars- 15/18- have 1 more international spot available
Adelaide Strikers- 15/18- Cooper may not be considered an international so they may have 1 more international spot available
Sydney Thunder- 18/18- complete team

He really will be, won't he Eddie? Great effort, albeit against Northants.

And conditions in Perth are always just like Chester-le-Street in one of the worst 'summers' England has had for about 5 years.

His economy rate outside England is over 9.5 and his average is over 30.

Will be good if Gibbs scores plenty..

Would be amazing if Gibbs scores plenty. He has been mediocre in the IPL for his last two seasons (I don't think he even got picked up for IPL 4) and for Northern Districts in last years T20 cup in New Zealand he was again very ordinary.

He might suddenly up his ante, you never know. He'll need to if he is to have any impact.
