And can any of the Victorians enlighten us as to whether Meyrick Buchanan is any good? Or is it just a timely publicity move to sign him by the Melbourne Renegades (aka the non-SKWs)? :thumbsu:

18 yr old, younger brother of Liam (former Vic player) and Amon (AFL player) its a 'Alex Keath' type signing by cricket Victoria to offer him a contract and a spot on a t20 list to ensure he doesn't pick AFL. He played TAC cup for Geelong falcons and was destined to be picked up in this yrs draft.

Agree Selective - that's why I was really keen on the Heat's concept of picking two blokes out of the T20 Challenge competition.

Hopefully Marty Raadschelders gets the last spot for the Heat. The 31-year-old from Toombul can belt a big ball and would deliver that beaut connection between the high profile BBL and the grassroots of clubland.

The bloke I saw play in the last round of the T20 over at Valley (was helping out there that day with a sponsor), a big bloke from Gympie called Brady, would have been a top choice.

Smashed 50 off about 20 balls, with some big sixes. He didn't get the nod unfortunately, but would be great if they put him on the supplementary list.

I think all the teams have to list another eight players for their supplementary list for the Champions League so maybe there will be a few clubbies bob up in those lists?

And did I seen Ian Moran with the Sixers? I recall he was always one of the blokes you heard about who was a gun club player but didn't really get a look in at higher levels?

What the hell is this goddamn crap?

This is why we're a basket case, third rate cricketing nation.

I literally cringed when I read what the 'Stars' and 'Renegades' stand for.

Disgrace. Do. Not. Want.

But don't you want to see Paul Collingwood in the heat of a fierce battle with Stuey MacGill?

I Lol'd. Good call.

I'm literally bursting in my jocks and on the edge of my seat to see those two in the heat of battle.

Looks like Gayle, Pollard and Bravo want to piss off to the Caribbean T20 tournament with 3 rounds to go.

Also, McCullum and Vettori plan on playing the NZ T20 comp at the same time.

I guess my mail was wrong then. I do know he knocked back a contract during the preseason for SA, will no doubt get one for the Vic's next year...

Made 80 odd in the one and only game his played so far. He only started playing in rd6 as he had commitments with foxtel and that cricket superstar show.

How much you want to bet he ends up on Hobarts supplementary list?

Got 43 off 16 balls in the future league to go with his effort against the Vics in the one dayers. For teams without a part time keeper like Birt he'd have to have put his name up as a list filler.

Steve Paulsen's 100 off 53 balls in the Futures League this week got him the nod for the 17th spot with the Brisbane Heat announced today at the Gabba.:thumbsu:

Matthew Gale, the ex-Victorian pace bowler, has the 18th spot, so that means the Heat have filled their quota now.

Supplementary lists next I guess - think they have until the week of the tournament to fill them?

Brisbane Heat list

Ryan Broad
Nick Buchanan

Nathan Hauritz
Matthew Hayden
James Hopes (c)
Chris Lynn
Brendon McCullum (international)

Doh. Somehow missed the news that Stu McGill has confirmed he has signed with the Sydney Sixers.

Think that means they are full now?

And with Bryce McGain in line for the Strikers, it means that leg-spin is the new black . . .:D

Pretty disspointed the heat didn't give McDermott a contract. He has been a stand out for the bulls in the ryobi cup

True! But with Chris Swan out injured at moment, wonder if he might be a call-up before squads are finalised?

And the Scorchers look like they will have spots to fill too? Wonder if Steve Magoffin will get a phone call to come back!:thumbsu:
