how is the ipl going this year? must say i havent had the least bit of interest in it this year despite getting around it in the past couple of seasons.
The best IPL in the last 5 years, so far. A number of close, exciting matches. There were many occasions where a team won after being in the jaws of defeat.

this might sound like a silly question but do those plyers really get say 2 million (jadeja) for the season?? seems exorbitant for 2 mths and 10 matches of cricket.
2 million for 3 years of contract. Yeah, exorbitant. But, that's the way it is. Besides Jadeja was instrumental in 2 of the 3 wins of CSK so far. So, he was worth it, I guess.

does the ipl have a future outside of india or will it petter out??
Doesn't matter actually. India and USA (large Indian population) will always be the target market.

Angelo Mathews can bat but god he is shit at everything else.
He's a very good fielder he just dropped a sitter that's all. Most players do that at some point.

I love seeing Ganguly do so well. Flipping hilarious to watch, he's so unfit he's huffing and puffing around after each ball and his hair is at left-field.

You have no doubt who is in charge of Pune. Yuvraj used to go mentally walkabout all the time. Not captaincy material at all.

Fair enough, but I was also strongly referring to his bowling.
He shouldn't be bowling right now due to his injury issues. If he is, I wouldn't be judging it as he hasn't been bowling regularly.

I reckon it'd be good for him to focus on his batting anyway; I agree that it is easily his strongest suit.

0/32 off 2 yesterday, and I thought he was quite impotent against us in the CB series, very poor death bowler in particular.

Great to see Marsh making runs. Rahane, Du Plessis, Gayle, Ryder and Shah are the only players with more runs than Shaun in the tournament so far. Pretty sweet effort. We need him for the WT20.

Anyone watching the Deccan/Kolkata game?

Wasn't really watching, but some Indian chick was getting interviewed at the innings break and was going on about how strong a unit Deccan is when suddenly the female interviewer suddenly cuts her off in mid sentence with "WOAAAAH okay lets go back to the studio" (or something similar) and then smiles weirdly at the camera for a few seconds.

Did the chick say something offensive or something and I just missed it? It's possible I'm wrong cause I didn't see it fully but it seemed weird to me.

Deccan have lost all their games. Five of five.

Good to see Marsh playing well. Obviously T20 isn't going to prove much to the selectors, but I hope it gives him some confidence going into next season. I don't believe he is finished at international level.

He's had a fair few games now for Aus with **** all result. I ilke him. I prefer watching him to most other Aus batsmen but I just don't think he's really up to the pressure of international cricket now.
IMO it's debatable whether or not international twenty20 cricket is above the standard and pressure of the Indian Premier League. IMO you see better standard Twenty20 cricket and more intense atmospheres in that league than anywhere else. Marsh is a killer Twenty20 batsman, and according to cricinfo ratings (make of that what you will), he's the best IPL batsman of all time. He's having a good season this year aswell.

I know his international record is poor but he's never spent a sustained period of time in the Australian team, in any format really.

I don't disagree, but I think their batting in some of their games has been shameful. Too much firepower in their lineup to produce such mediocre results. Their bowling isn't that potent though it must be said.

Cameron White playing a gem of a innings for Deccan as I speak. Love it for the fact that Rahul Sharma gave Sanga a send-off (someone who I respect alot), and White has belted him to all parts.

Any chance of turning it one day Sharma? :D

Couldn't agree more! :thumbsu:

Thought it was pretty disrespectful of Sharma to give a legend like Sangakarra a send off like that.

Massive upset by Kings XI Punjab today, great stuff. I'm half supporting them and Pune at this stage. I change every year though.

Got to say, 2 of the biggest and most expensive flops of the last 2 IPL's are at Deccan and they are both Aussies.

Lehmann might not have any say the next time the auction is on... if he has a job there at all.
