i think one of our most glaring skill deficiencies is our tackling
this has cost us more goals this year than errant kicking imo
time and time againg you see our players just get brushed off when tackling or even worse, we dont even try to tackle ,go inb for the big sidebump and just fall over, very embarressment.
urgent attantion must be paid here.
employ a specialist tackling coach i say, someone from a rugby leage backgroung and just drill it into the young blokes all summer

A lot of that is body strength with the young blokes. Then you add in the fact that Thornton and Mundy are sheilas and Dodd and Bradley have the co-ordination of a drunk 16 year old and it becomes obvious why we miss so many tackles.

Mundy is a decent tackler, especially when you compare it to Duffields efforts today :o:o

get solomon as tackling coach, that guy is the best tackler in the league

I think our efforts to tackle are good. Duffield had an off-game in that department today.

The real problem for me is the amount of our players that get 'sucked' into the tackle/pile up. The really good team's only commit 1-2 players to a breakdown, with the others standing on the perimeter waiting for the ball to come out.

It was frustrating to watch our players leave their man to help out only to have their man get the ball and move on. Our players need to back each other in and read the play better.

The effort is the hard part and we have that. The tackles sticking will come.

Ridiculous to criticize Duffield's tackling. His tackling this year has been very good and he was clearly not 100% right with his shoulder injury from last week (which would obviously limit his tackling ability).

Well why the hell was he playing. If you can't tackle due to injury then it is also going to affect balance, handballing and marking. So either they carried a ridiculous injury into the game, or he's just a pathetic tackler. Having seen him all this year, it is not the injury. He doesnt have the ability to grip someone and ride them into the ground, he just lightly holds them or tries to grab the jersey with a hand.

you may be right about duffield, but to say mundy is a good tackler is wrong, i reckon they are both on par with eachother in the tackling stakes which is ..... ordinary at best

not too worried about our tackling that should get better when our youngsters get more muscle an body size.

Need to spend more time on our disposal skills and decision making until that improves it wont matter how we tackle

I disagree, Duffield's tackling has been good this year, he's only ranked behind Solomon and Schammer for tackles this year.
