Oh god, that's freaking superb!

Yep, take a bow. Shame a few Roos players didn't bow after that effort, Wazz. Perhaps they're a bit classier than that disgraceful disrespectful display you put on last year.

Imagine this

You were once the centre half forward in the league.
Your body allowed what you’re mind wanted to do.
You had already been given All Australian honors 4 times.
You are a 3 times best and fairest winner for your club.
You are the goals record holder for your club.
You are the games record holder for your club.
You have played 215 games without report or suspension.
You are a premiership captain.

Then

You sustain injury but work hard to get back.
When you get back, your body won’t allow you to do what your mind wants to do.
The media all but write you off.
Your club above all odds makes a Preliminary Final.
Your team is well in front of the Preliminary Final game and you are assured of a Grand Final birth.
Late in the game you kick a goal on the run from a sharp angle.
As you turn around from kicking the goal you are in front of thousands of your own adoring fans.

Imagine this person was you.
Just sit back for a moment and imagine the adrenalin you would be feeling.

In that very moment, you turn towards your fans and give a quick bow and then run off.

Nothing wrong with that.

IF however you bowed to the opposition supporters, I would consider you a clown and disrespectful.

Warren Tredrea is the person above.

He bowed to his own fans.

Nothing wrong with that.

You retire, then take a bow..... Nice effort you put into writing this but ringing people and bowing and goosesteps are only required in a GF when the game is done and dusted. And even then it is pretty rude.

Our boys were too busy concentrating on winning the Grand Final in 97 and 98 to worry about bowing. Tredrea's priorities are obviously to draw attention to himself first. Tredrea first, team last.
What about 1993? Didn't the crowies bow to essendon's pressure and blow a 42 point halftime lead in the prelim?

I was talking about 97 and 98 when we won back-to-back flags, a feat that only a small handful of teams have been able to replicate and a feat that even a team that 'exists to win premierships' has not been able to accomplish.

You are right BL, it was a form of celebration. Whats the difference between Warren Tredrea bowing to his fans and Andrew McLeod running adjacent to the boundry line looking into the crowd pointing his 2 index fingers towards them?

Surely a celebration is a celebration.

Its not as if Tredrea bowed in the face of the North Melbourne players and fans.

With their young and dynamic list, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the Dockers go back-to-back.

Stop defending the indefensible - It was a ridiculous selfish and stupid thing to do. Libba did a similar thing in 97 but it bit him on the arse on the day. Geelong won thier prelim in a tight dour contest and had every reason to be excited - however as I remember, they thanked their supporters and walked off the ground without any histrionics - they KNEW they still had a job to do. Port, being Port, thought the opposite.

No I in team but their is an ME - Tredders showed that.

And, correct me if I am wrong, but I got the distinct impression that he was a bit miffed that reports were that he was gutted after his shot last Sat night. Well, if he wasn't - he should have been

ETW, McLeod has been doing that for years. It's almost expected now. Tredrea has never been that animated. For him to show the "FIGJAM" notion just reeks of arrogance and desperation.

Unless any of us were in his shoes in that moment in time with the adrenelin pumping, we will never understand.

I just think that if you hate Warren Tredrea then you have a problem with what he did, if you dont, then its not an issue.

Warren Tredrea is a champion of the game and a very fair player. He is raped by the umpires because he refuses to comprimise his strength and not play for frees. He has for the most part of his career shown great integrity but opposition supporters bias will not allow them to recognise this.

Compare Tredrea to players like Fevola and Richardson who openly sook when thigs dont go their way and sometimes even give up by not chasing.

Anyway, if you believe his bow was arrogant then you are entitled to that opinion.

You have to wonder if a player say like Nathan Lonie in a spur of the moment had done a quick bow to the crowd after kicking a goal... well if it would've received so many comments. People always will try to find a way to knock a champion i'm afraid.... that's the bottom line.

Yep, Tredders was a champion. Just like Pat Cash was once a Champion. At least Pat new when to move on. Tredders is happy to bring the club down just to earn some extra$$$$. Great club man

wow. what you just said there pretty much precisely sums up Bassetts 2008. except hes never been anything close to a champion, more a semi-adequate player.

anyway on to Wazza, hes still probably been our best forward this year, he will definetely go again next year, dont see why this would even be under question

And every other club is hoping he remains your captain and plays every game in 2009 in the forward line.
There comes a time to hang 'em up, and Treddles is way overdue.
