Once upon a time, there existed a giant tree that was the source of
mana. A war, however, caused this tree to wither away, and a hero’s life was
sacrificed in order to take its place. Grieving over the loss, the goddess
disappeared unto the heavens. The goddess left the angels with this edict: “You
must wake me, for if I should sleep, the world shall be destroyed.” The angels
bore the Chosen One, who headed towards the tower that reached up unto the
heavens. And that marked the beginning of the regeneration of the world.
Welcome one and all to Sylvarant. We begin our story in the quaint little town of Iselia, where our heroes reside. They will shortly be embarking on a journey to regenerate the declining world of Sylvarant. Unfortunately, their journey will not be smooth at all as many obstacles lie in wait - the nasty Desians who wreak havoc on the peaceful citizens of Iselia and the more foreboding denizens of Cruxis intent on creating a world without discrimination yet will use any means necessary even if it is radical. Otherworldly creatures like the dangerous Sword Dancer or several other enemies are out there as well all intent on stopping the Chosen from achieving their destiny.
Unbeknown to our party, Sylvarant is one of two worlds that exist, always in constant battle for mana in order to survive. The flourishing world of Tethe'alla will become the declining world if the chosen and her entourage are successful in the mission of regeneration. The battle between Good and Evil is not as simple as it usually is made out to be as who is truly Good? And who Evil?
Yet again, I am running a Werewolf game based on a video game - the acclaimed Tales series, developed and published by Namco has produced many outstanding games - of them Tales of Symphonia is my favourite. Blending real time combat with elements of RPG's, an intense and captivating storyline, some amusing anime style cutscenes, some questionable voice acting and profound characterisation, it makes for an exciting experience with many twists and turns and betrayals; as such, many of these have made their way into this game.
Now, a few things I need to point out before we get to the basics of the game.
1) Reason for Lynching is back - must be a game related reason; if I don't accept it with a "like" react it is not a valid vote.
2) Modkills for inactivity have been replaced with additional lynch votes added - if this applies, I will state this at the beginning of the day. A tally will not be kept for each vote. You must vote every day or two votes will be added to your total the next day.
3) Sped up phases will only occur later in the game and normal deadlines may still apply.
Basic Rules:
At the beginning of the game each player is given a 'role' at random and in secret (via PM) by the moderator.
How are players killed?
Each 'turn' of the game will last approximately 24 hours and also represents one 'day' of game time, thus a game will go on for several days before it is concluded. There are two 'phases' to every turn of the game;
Night Phase (8:00pm – 10:00am):When evil factions secretly decide among themselves, via PM communication, which Villager (one per night) that they shall kill and then inform the moderator via PM. Others with a Night action also enter their actions now via PM to the Mods. Decisions for the night phase are to be in no later than 10am.
Day Phase (10:00am – 8:00pm):After the results of Night actions have been announced, everybody, Villagers, evil, neutral etc discusses and ultimately votes publicly in the game-thread upon which player (one per day) that they shall lynch and kill. Votes for the day phase are to be in no later than 8pm.
At my discretion I may speed up phases but this will only happen when there are 33% of starting players alive AND we may still revert to regular timeframes.
Obviously during the day the Villagers will want the group to vote for and lynch an evil player, whilst the evil players themselves will want not to be lynched; herein lies the fundamental strategy of the game:
Can the villagers identify the evildoers whilst at the same time convincing the rest of the group that they're not evil? And can the evildoers convince the group that they're not evil at all and thus avoid being lynched?
Werewolf Etiquette:
There are two main rules which everyone must follow in order for the game to run successfully;
DEAD PLAYERS MUST LEAVE THE GAME
If you are killed at any point during the game then you are no longer allowed to participate although I will allow a farewell post, but that post cannot impact the remainder of the game. Please if possible refrain from posting or reacting to posts in the thread even if you vehemently disagree with a post or
THERE MUST BE NO PRIVATE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN PLAYERS EXCEPT WITHIN THE GROUPS LISTED BELOW
Except for the above-mentioned groups sending PMs between themselves, other forms of private communication concerning the game are not allowed.
Anyone caught sending screen captures of a PM OR
Anyone caught quoting PMs from the mods will be mod-killed without warning.
EDITING POSTS IS NOT ALLOWED UNLESS IT IS TO FIX A TYPO - IT IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED HOWEVER - punishment for this will be at the discretion of the moderator.
For all other instances, these will be at the moderator's discretion as to whether or not it warrants a modkill however my decision is final.
A modkill made in the last hour before deadline of the daily lynch will result in the lynch being called off for the day and the modkill replacing the daily lynch.
For this game we will be using the Reason for Lynching rule. You must provide a game related reason. "Because I want to" does not constitute a reason. It must be related to the game ie "OES because he is suspicious", OR "OES because he melted when accused of being evil" OR "OES because he didn't die when I tried to kill him last night"
A reason such as "OES because he made it all the way to endgame two games in a row and want revenge on him" or "OES because he barracks for St Kilda and they suck!" WILL NOT be accepted. Put a little thought into it and show you are invested.
Voting:
During the Day Phase players must vote for whom to lynch, your vote must be formatted in bold like this: Player Name. You must tag the moderator OR bold the name for it to be counted - I will like the post to indicate it has been recorded - if a post is not reacted to and you believe it ought to be, please bring it to my attention and I will reconsider it.
Upon the voting deadline (end of day-phase) the votes will be tallied by the moderator and whoever has received the most will be lynched and be out of the game: remember, once killed you cannot take further part; do not reveal your roles to anyone until the game has been concluded.
YOU MUST VOTE EVERY PHASE - IF YOU DO NOT VOTE YOU WILL NOT BE MODKILLED - RATHER, TWO LYNCH VOTES WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR TOTAL AT THE BEGINNING OF EVERY DAY SINCE YOU LAST VOTED - FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU DON'T VOTE DAY ONE, YOU WILL HAVE TWO VOTES TO START ON DAY TWO; IF YOU DON'T VOTE DAY ONE OR TWO, YOU WILL START WITH FOUR ON DAY THREE, ETC. AS USUAL I WILL TAG STRAGGLERS WITH ONE HOUR TO GO BEFORE THE DAILY LYNCH.
Any ties in voting will result in the randomiser determining who is lynched.

WILL ANNOUNCE ROLES AND STUFF SHORTLY - THERE ARE 20 ROLES - 9 EVIL, 2 NEUTRAL (TO START), 9 GOOD. I WOULD LIKE AT LEAST 30-35 PARTICIPANTS. WE WILL BEGIN SUNDAY NIGHT.
