Provided he’s fit, Sam Jacobs would be a good cheap option. Injured this year but aside from that he’s always been injury free.

Bellchambers / Jacobs / Draper / a rookie

The way Bellchambers moves is truly frightening for an AFL footballer, but he’s contracted so I guess we’ve got him.

Jacobs is a RFA and I doubt Adelaide would be standing in his way if he left.

Other free agents are Dawson Simpson and Jon Ceglar.
What sort of salary would Jacobs command?

Jacobs as a 1-2 year option who’s willing to play VFL and take a coaching / mentoring role would be a solid citizen. Seems to have a lot of respect around the place in Adelaide.

Otherwise someone like Nicholls at GCS should come cheap and is a much better chance of playing senior games behind Bellchambers and Draper than behind Witts and GC generally refusing to play him - is he even still on their list actually? I didn’t think he was that terrible when I’ve seen him play but maybe I’m wrong.

Once you sign Draper to a four year contract then he is the understudy to Bellchambers with a view to being number one ruck in twelve months - So the 18/19 year old is the third or fourth option depending on what happens to Z.Clarke - Posters bemoan the fact that EFC is risk averse to playing younger or inexperienced players but yet throw up names of more senior rucks with varying levels of ability - Dont give the match committee a chance to take a short cut.

Agree with the sentiment about selection but it doesnt apply to 18-19 yo ruckmen with the number 2 on the way back from a knee reco and maybe not available until midyearish.

I also think we want to settle on the number 2 for 2021. I've been banging on about Meek. I like the look of him, he's a big boy but coordinated and seems to be quite mobile.

Even English, as good as he is going to be, has been a liability in games as a 3rd year player.

I was a big advocate of DC. The fact Sydney went ahead and selected Knoll in the mid season draft and to nearly debut him ahead of DC is perhaps an indictment on his actual capabilities.

**preface this by saying I have not seen him play one minute of NEAFL football or what role/position he does for the Swans reserves**
Cameron went down injured either the NEAFL round before or after the MSD and hasn't played since

Myers is quite clearly at the stage now where he’s comfortable enough with being depth anyway so as long as his next contract reflects that I’m happy enough for him to stay, could even be an option to place him on the rookie list next year.

Ideally you’d be looking around for someone with finals experience with a little bit more versatility in his game to fill that slot though.

Martin confounds me.

It would signal complete and utter denial about the list and the brand.

We're not bringing him here and paying him to work his way through the twos.

So we're really just adding one more weak player in the way of Ridley, Laverde and Begley.

I wonder how that will hold up against the Dogs next year.

Except he’s not depth because when he is required to come into the seniors, he offers nothing.

The bloke basically retired himself publicly mid-season. Keeping him on the list would be high farce.

So we’ll probably do it.

I’m not sure he retired himself more than he just showed a modicum of self awareness about where we’re at and where he’s at.

Need more of that around the club, not less

Kobe is contracted to next year I’m pretty sure. I’d love to see him get a full season in like redman has done this year, I think he can be the wingman we are crying out for

It’d be nice if Riley Bowman drops to the Rookie draft but Paul Cousins seems to think there’s a bit of interest from other clubs surrounding him.
“A club may need to use a reasonable pick to get him in the draft”.
Even more baffling we didn’t take a punt mid season given he was a free hit!

To be fair, he had only played 1 game 3 days before the mid season draft and was more than likely not even on our (mid seaso ndraft) radar at that point in time.

Don’t worry, we’ll burn them on the outside.
