The club treat us as fools and maybe we are or deserve it. Does everyone get the feeling that the club thinks we are a bunch of tattooed, toothless, booze guzzling supporters, Who are a bunch of *^#%#^&.

Just get the feeling with clubs like Collingwood respect their supporters, they have a forum where all the supporters can ask a question of the coach and other leaders of the club about direction the club is heading etc. With us they feed us the usual spin of KPI’s, people forget about last year when we turned it around, blah, blah blah.

Did anyone happened to listen to this weeks edition of tiger talk. Listened to the first 22 minutes and fair dinkum blew my stack and had to switch off. They talked about anything BUT the weekend game taxi’s in Tasmania, trips to Liverpool, muesli bars etc, etc, etc.

How much does it cost the club to produce the show, presume Richo, Greeners and forget the other guys name aren’t doing this on a voluntary basis. Presume all 3 are are on about $100-150k at the club, average of $125k. Gotta work out to about $15-20k to produce the show every week, for what. Wouldn’t it better to spend that money on a few new recruiting staff.

Couldn’t believe it this week, how can you have a whole show of talking tigers and not talk about the weekend game.

Incredible.

Makes me think, how far up did the directive come from Benny, The Prez (forgot her name) to make sure “DO NOT TALK” about the weekend game.

Once again respect for the fans who provide you with a great livelyhood.

What do you want them to say? I'll bet you those guys are hurting as much as we are, and not just because they're employed by RFC.
Exactly, normality and regrouping is what will get us back to playing our best, do people really want to see videos of players moping around, feeling all "woe is me" and sitting in group therapy sessions!
Internalise the pain and show a happy, confident and united front and maybe, just maybe, we can play as a happy, confident and united unit.

Behind the scenes we think they're working to improve the club. Really they're just working on new ways to keep the average supporter numb and dumb, thinking we won't ever realize how shit / full of shit they are.

Look i hate taking pot shots at the club, they are trying their best. maybe the people in charge are just not good enough to make the right calls, so lets move over and give someone else a turn. will support the club to the hilt, but I get sick of being made an f o o l of. We are the most loyal giving supporters of any. Is it too much to ask for a little respect, not that god fearing respect, but a little respect for your supporters would be nice.

For those that haven’t listened please do so, it is comical. It is almost like they put on the show for a bunch of 10 year olds who don’t know any better. Please Richo, Greeners and the other guy if you ever read this do yourself a favour and don’t give us that again. An hour show talking about taxi rides, trips to London, and muesli bars.

Common.

Maybe a bit of self respect for yourselfs.

This will be funny to say but it really sounds like people aren't in touch with their feelings, express yourself, express your pain and disappointment, vent. Just remember others are the same.

exactly embrace it and move on.

Some seem to carry on as if there is a chip on their shoulder.

It is what it is, thats fine we just need to prepare ourselves to work back out of it.

It is part and parcel of footy circles, totally normal with the footy industry, bit confused how some like to create a drama about it!

Lets face it, if we were groundhoging it and shaping like 9th was likely again we would seriously be in f... trouble!!

The old RFC_Official explained this situation very well last season

The podcast is not a hardcore analysis and review show. The club had deliberately steered away from that, preferring to do something that was lighter, with more humour/entertainment factor

They even acknowledged there is already an existing podcast out there (the fan one) that does that, and there was no need to effectively duplicate their gig

The podcast is supposed to give us a bit of news, with some light hearted tigers chat and some laughs. It's not supposed to be anything more, and given the number of downloads, I'd say it's giving the people what they want

What ^ said.

We're all hurting - but the podcast has been doing that schtick since inception. It's about as hard hitting as The Footy Show, ffs. I listen to it most weeks and I think a bit of "insider" humour may disenfranchise the non-regular-listeners who go there hoping for more. It's mostly positive (even in the dark times) but there is realism there. I for one scoffed last year when Lids came on when we were 3 and 8 or thereabouts and said "keep the faith, we'll make it, no worries" He proved to be right.

It's a good point you make rfctiger74 - we think Tiger Talk does a great job of the fan-take and analysis of the weekend's match, so that's not the territory to enter into for the club's podcast.

Believe that those taking to the mic can get just as deflated after a loss. It may not be for everyone, but please try not to take being a bit light hearted in the studio on a Tuesday arvo to mean they're being disingenuous to the listeners and wider membership base.

Club still has to attract supporters. If that rubbish is able to get kids to barrack for Richmond then probably even more needed given our team isnt really doing that.
