I think today really showed we need a tall marking foward like gasper, mcdougall, lynch, hansen, johnson ect but i dont think willo is the answer he is more of a leading foward and dosent take many pack marks. Gardiner was great up foward but we lose to much in the ruck, and cox should be dropped he dosent do engough,he cant play in the foward line and is is one dimensional, he should be sent back to the WAFL and learn how to play foward, we need a backup ruckmen who is mobile and can play foward, players who come to mind are mcdougall, gasper, johnson and i have even seen lynch play in the ruck, and hanyes cant do it by himself everyweek and they cant except the midfield to ethier, they get tried 2 !!

Less of ',' more of '.' :)

Other than that Cox is still our 2nd best ruckman and should be kept in the side for Gardy's backup. We need a tall mobile marking forward though and the longer we leave it, the less time we have got to get it right before September.

99 words in a sentence. You could be a high court judge.

Cox was pretty good yesterday i thought, but yes, we are short of a decent marking target up forward. One possibility would be playing Gaspar at CHF, and pushing Jakovich to FF.

Personally, I like the idea of playing Haynes in the FP alongside Wilson.

I`ll have to work a bit harder at skewl if i want to be a high court judge.

Cox was pretty got yesterday, he just has to learn how to play up foward.

They should play Gaspar at CHF, Haynes at FF and maybe Mcdougall and matera in the pockets. Thats what i think anyway

Wilson is a good player but he i would concentrate on playing the younger fowards. Mainly because there the ones who are going to be around in the future so you might as well give them the experence now.

McDougall has been playing well in the WAFL and it is time he was promoted to the senior side. He wont learn anything new in the WAFL, its time for him to sink or swim in the big league.

Hopefully this week.

I reckon there will be a fair chop of players being dropped this week.

i think that would be a good idea, as it would breathe a breath of fresh air into the side. give cox a run in the wafl for a few weeks and let seaby have a run.

Seaby deserves a run anyway, and unlike cox he can play in the foward line

I watched McDougall playing for Perth on Saturday, and to my mind, he`s wasted in the WAFL. I reckon he deserves a decent chance up there with the big boys, by that I mean not just one week and if he doesn`t set the world on fire, send him back.

Some of the pack marks he took on Saturday were great, and he wasn`t shabby rucking either.

I watched him aswell, his pack marking and ruckwork was very impressive. They should give him a a go he deserves it and anyway its the young kids who will be around in the future so they might as well give them the experience now.

he may be going very well as well, but we gotta remember we can't give everybody a go now. despite the weekends loss against the bombers, we have had a pretty good winning formula, and we wouldn't won't to unsettle the team.

That is very heart warming hearing that he is good at taking a pack mark.

Something we really lack at the moment up forward.

I wish we could give everyone a go but you are right we dont want to unsettle the team to much. We should just make the changes that will inprove the team.

yeah true, gaspar was impressive at the start of the season b4 his injury. his inclusion before johnson would be warranted.

IMO it is time we brought in a tall forward. Gaspar cant be too far away but I think we need another player up forward and McDougall is the man for the job. As for Cox, I think the start of the year for him was terrible but the last two weeks in particular he has really started to find some form.

I wouldnt bring in Seaby for Cox. Still dont know what to do about FF? Wilson or Haynes? Haynes or Wilson? One is tall, the other short. One is old, the other is young. Could you play both in the forward line, with a McDougall or Gaspar at CHF? Then what to do with Jakovich? Glad im not the coach.

As was brought up earlier this season - when a team breaks even with us in the midfield, having a short forward line will hurt us.

Apart from Gardiner, every time the ball was bombed into our forward 50 it was an easy job for Essendon to rebound. We need a tall marking forward!! Maybe Gaspar and McDougall since Wilson isnt getting a run?

Personally I reckon the Doggies this week gives us an excellent chance to experiment a little before we get close to the serious stuff. Likewise the Carlton & Hawthorn games at Subi in coming weeks.

For the Doggies

Lynch @ CHB
Gaspar @ CHF
McDougall @ FF
Seaby @ backup ruck

Milli, Jako, Cox & Carroll to WAFL

You mean Milli and Jako resting rather than being demoted to the WAFL?

Anyway, ive seen the past 2 Bulldogs games and theyve been very good without winning. Took it right up to Adelaide at AAMI and dropped off against the Kangaroos in the last quarter

Theyre desperate for a win and that makes them dangerous - this is a match where we should put our best team on the field and go all out for a big win
