IMO medium is best. By indie's standard I'm medium, but only barely (judging by the last time I was measured anyway). I think the standard is wrong TBH, anything below 175cm is short.

Average height of Australian males is supposedly around 177cm (5'10"), so I'd say anything around that would be considered 'medium'.

Im 189cm tall (6'2")

Ideal height, you can see over a crowd but don't stand out.

Good call, over 190 is where the unco lanky freak syndrome can start to kick in. I am happy to be 188, big enough to say "come at me brah", but agile enough to run away should any brah actually come at me.

As long as the guy is taller than me it's all good. It's more of an issue when girls are towers. I have a friend who is 190cm and is quite pretty as well but she can never find a guy because they feel intimated by her and don't want to date a chick who towers over them :p

How open is she toward dating someone shorter than her to any degree?

Would you say her standards are lower in the sense that once she does find a guy taller than her, she is likely to latch on to him more easily because finding a guy taller than her is much more difficult than it is for a girl of average height?

190cm chick...

Yeah I could see that happening. It's funny though when people meet her and find out she's single they'll immediately try to set her up with a really tall friend of theirs. I think it's gotten to the point where she doesn't mind dating a guy who is a little shorter than her (around 180+).

198cm if we're rounding to the nearest cm.
Tis handy, tis handy.
Advantages include the fact that few people start trouble with people that tall, being able to see over things is nice, dominating every game of king of the pack. Combined with good hand eye coordination it makes learning and playing most sports very easy.

Disadvantages include low branches, the overhead poles on buses, and some girls find it intimidatingly tall. Hugging people between 150-175cm results in a shoulder to the face.
A bi-product of my size is my shoe-size, which at 15 US means it is near impossible to find shoes, let alone ones I like.
People asking me if I play basketball. Do you play minigolf??

My sister knows these two twins who would be in the high 190's and have bit of a frame on them, I've met them a few times and it was pretty intimidating. I had to play against one of them the other week when I filled in for a mate's mixed basketball team. I'm 186cm with an average build and a footy background so I'd like to think I could keep my feet when in a contest, but she absolutely bulldozed me on a few occasions. Not to mention the rejections she was giving out, I just wanted to cry.

On topic, I am happy with my height.

I was 194cm a few years back, but am only 192cm now. Old age kicking in I think. :(

Carrying bushpig around will do that.

I'm between 6'2" and 6'3", so about 190cm ish. Tall enough.

Save that shit for TLC, Tex.

You and I are around the same height, you wonna fight? ;)

Still no votes for short what gives?:D:p
Being short really does put you behind the 8-ball, you're naturally put at a disadvantage in a sports like footy, basketball.

There's a lot of women you have to rule out immediately, simply cos they're taller than you... in crowds you blend in...

Its crap

Right on 6 foot. I subsconsciously consider this the absolute minimum. Having said that, probably 80% of people around me are shorter so I feel taller.

Take up the Gus 'instant weight gain' diet.

I eat steak almost every night of the week (only thing I can competently cook, and cheapest to buy in bulk). High protein, puts a bit of meat on your bones.

Tall. No risk of having a gf taller than me.

This. I'm reasonably tall (6 ft 1 - 6 ft 2), and pretty happy with my height. I've got a mate that is 205cm, has trouble sitting in planes, has to get an emergency exit seat, where there is more leg room, so there'd be downsides to being to tall.
