Tambling is a dud

First of all, i dont agree with the title of this thread, but i will say one thing, gibbs delisted haha you have no idea about footy do you. He picked up 26 possesions on the weekend and picked up 16 marks. and as for your comment on Walker, if he was delisted im sure richmond would jump all over him if the chance came along.
you really dont have a clue about andrew walker.
he isnt 20 he will be 22 in a month played over 70 games only 2 good games of note, gibbs picked up 26 easy possesions on the weekend hence 16 marks same as when joel bowden was getting 35 possesions & 20 marks, you know pass it to me & i,ll pass it back but getting nowhere
last point richmond would not even consider walker.
he has shown nothing at all in 5 years imo cooney, sylvia, ray, clark, stanton, mclean, bradley, buchanon, adcock. all but cooney were drafted after him in the 2003 draft have passed him :)

He should have Buddy Franklin's stats taped to his locker each Monday.

Okay, so what would that reveal?

--- RT -- LF
K - 13 - 21
H - 16 - 8
D - 29 - 29
M - 6 -- 11
T -- 8 -- 1
HO- 1 -- 0
FF- 3 -- 4
FA- 3 -- 4
G -- 1 -- 10
B -- 0 -- 4
DT 122 - 172

That one is a mid-sized onballer who gets the majority of his possessions in the centre of the ground, works hard on his defensive skills, but could not be relied upon to win a hit-out in a ruck contest, whilst the other is a tall forward who gets the majority of his possessions in the attacking 50, doesn't work too hard on creating turnovers, but is always a scoring threat (who also doesn't win any hit-outs in a ruck contest).

Two totally different players. Would you also tape Lance's stats on Ryan Griffen's locker, or Patrick Ryder's stats on Beau Dowler's locker?

It must just be the pressure preventing Richy from hitting his straps. He has genuine talent but he seems to not cope at all with pressure. At least he gives it a go and tries for the hardball gets. If all his team did the same we wouldnt be under so much pressure.

Tackle, Sheppard, Bump, Run, Call..... They are piss easy skills to master. Why our players cant see that everything starts and finished with the 1%ers is beyond me.

na man, would rather tape buddy's stats in the tigers stats.
Give you the tip, buddy is light years ahead of anyone in the tigers line up atm. He is a young Richo MkII with a better kick. What have we always said about Richo? if he were a better kick, whether it be running towards a pocket and snapping a sausage roll, or whether he was lining up from a set shot, he would be???? well, now you buddy will show us what Richo would have been, the kid is an out and out star, who will carry the dawks to the heights for a long time. He kicks the goal that matters, he might be asleep and then when there is a winning move needed he produces, he excites the dawk supporters, he excites the footy world. So lets not get ridiculous hey? ;)

He has pretty good form vs. Collingwood so im looking forward to the continued improvement for Tambling this week look for 20 disposal 4 tackles and a goal:thumbsu:

too early in buddy,s career to say he is an improved version of richo !
richo has had a knee reco & missed a year, yet will endup kicking 900 goals with his bad kicking, not playing in a top team ever through his career. buddy is certainly a very good player & could become a champion
but way way too early atm 300 games 900 goals & doesnt even play as a true ff very very impressive and is a legend

man, who gives a flying ____ if he plays 300 games and kicks 900 goals, did dermie, carey etc play 300 games and kick 900 goals? No, what they did do is get the ____ing job done when the job was needed to be done. ;)

yeah & they did it on their own......... apart from richo we have had crap players

Exactly. Buddy is a superstar. We passed over him. Two gun KPP and 3 gun mids in that draft and we put both our eggs in one basket. It will kill us as long as he's playing, i don't care how good Tambling gets.

i think he genuinely tries. i really do. but i'm not sure he backs himself. had a mate at work sum it up perfectly. he attended the draft camp in darwin in the year tambling was drafted and said 'tambling looked like a top 3 draft pick, no doubt. kicking goals from all over the shop and dominating the middle. but i don't think he's realised that you can do that against boys, but men will stop you.'
he's gotta get some more confidence and realise that he's playing against men now.

No doubt about it, Cogga. My point was, what's the point of "taping Franklin's stats" to anyone's locker? It's meaningless. It reveals bugger all about the quality of his work. Franklin's stats are little better, and a lot worse, than any other key forward. But we know what an imposing figure he presents and how he will constantly draw multiple opponents, something not revealed by mere stats.

Hang on a minute, richo, what if Tambling gets really good? Doesn't that kinda ruin your theory?

Buddy's a loose cannon and will be gone from football in 5 years. Tambling will be a premiere midfielder in 5 years...... bold statement but hey, why not.

buddy is already in the top 10-15 most valuable players in the comp, i know the vast majority of you wish he gets 3 strikes or whatever to feel better about passing him over, poor and weak way to look at it. Hope hes around for yrs to come bc hes probably the most exciting player in the comp already.

Will Tambling explode on sunday? :o

I have a feeling he's ready to do something that'll change the minds of the doubters, it'd be a welcome relief to see people got off his back for a change.

mate tambling could turn into daniel kerr & franklin would still be more valuable.

:)Buddy is a star!

Tambling ain't Franklin.

Tambling ain't a dud.

End of story!

Let's just forget the past and work on improving what we've got and moulding iit in to something special.

Nothing to be gained by looking back...the future is what counts!

IMO....NO!

The "grass is always greener" theory will always prevail around these parts Ghost.

When Tambling was drafted by us there were plenty of people on here creaming themselves and giving the Hawks shit about being stuck with Franklin. Everyone including the media had Tambling penciled in top 4 ahead of Franklin before the draft. A lot of revisionist history has gone on since, based on a huge amount of hindsight.

I never said Tambling was a dud. I have said here many times that I have faith he will be a good player, perhaps very good. I didn't follow it too closely at the time and certainly hadn't seen any of the boys play before they were drafted, but I remember reading about Franklin and I remember wanting him. 6'6" mega-athletes don't come around very often and we should have known - we had one and we should have got another. Imagine our forwad line with budy and richo. No, on second thought, don't. I try not to. It hurts too much. That was my point.

if richmond hadnt taken tambling in the 04 draft, the chances are we still wouldnt of taken franklin. he wasnt rated that highly before the draft :)
Uh, he was. He was rated the best prior to the u/18 champs, had a poor one and slid.

Another overrated player - we have way too much of those type of players and they are only overrated within the RFC community not outside of that.

Tambling is still the exact same player he was in round 1 2005 no better no worse, if we had of picked franklin he would still be playin for coburg because he continually got in richo's way and probably faded away into nothing.
