Tapscott?

Hey Melb supporters, just checking in to see how Tapscott is traveling these days? I was pleased when you guys picked him up a few years ago & he seemed to be pushing for the senior side last year but i haven't heard too much from him since?

Is he injured at the moment because i was surprised not to see him listed in any of the NAB games? Is he still looking to make a solid push for seniors this year?

just being eased into it, he isn't playing nab cup because he hasn't quite completed the amount of hours they want from plaers iirc

will probably get a gig in a nab challenge game

Morton played almost every game in his first 2 years - as did Scully and Trengove last year.

Give me examples of other clubs developing their players faster than us?

Frawley has developed at a normal rate - Jack Riewoldt from the same draft - both AA.. We've also had many RS nominations

Tapscott hasn't done enough to earn a spot just yet.

He appears to have spent most of this pre-season on a restricted program after his hip injury last year, so to me, it only makes sense for him to play in the VFL initially and work his way into the team from there.

As for his position, I like the idea of him playing in defence and setting up the play from there, kind of like Shannon Hurn did for the Eagles, but whether or not his defensive work is at an acceptable level is another thing - I really haven't seen enough of him to know at this point.

Yeah, not a bad idea. I think the Sub should be an impact player of sorts. Tapscott would certainly fit that mould. Maric could as well. I originally liked the idea of having Martin as a sub as he can be a back up to any of our talls if they go down(including Jamar). But the more i think about it, the more i think we need a running player as a sub.

Will be very interesting how we approach this rediculous new rule change. Will also be very interesting to see where Bailey plays Tapscott. It's time to start getting games into him...

I think a good game is required next week to be any chance of round 1 but I'm liking the idea! So far based on my best 22 he'd have to force out one of Bartram (unlikely), Macdonald (some chance), Bennell or Bail (both a possibility).

I loved his kicking and generally he just looks like a footballer who knows what to do on the field.
