Robinson - Time to Make or Break

The greatest coach of all time in this modern era, Mikey Robinson is in a position of a last season thread. At only 49 years old, however, Robinson has coached the Collingwood Football Club since 2004 and has had the biggest success than anybody, coaching the club to 9 Premierships. But the last Premiership coached by Robinson was in 2027, 10 years ago, and since then the club has only made 3 Finals Appearances, all in succession between years 2030-32. His last four seasons have made him crash back to earth as a coach, with performance 16th, 15th, 13th and 13th, Robinson has announced his coaching career will come to an end very shortly, and 2037 is the last year on his existing contract.

"With the last season on my contract being this year, I will announce in several weeks time if I shall continue on, but at this stage this season will most likely be my last." said Robinson at his press conference yesterday, before the start in the NAB Pre-Season Cup. This will be Robinson's 34th year as coach of Collingwood.

Over the Pre-Season, Collingwood was successful by not losing any players through injury. Thorncraft has a minor knee operation over the Pre-Season and was rested during the NAB Cup. He played in the most recent Regional Cup match, and kicked 3 goals in 2 quarters of football. He is set to return at full strength for Round 1.

Unfortunately Justin Martens once again has suffered a long-term injury, this time being a knee. Martens was drafted at the age of 18 back in 2032, and was a player considered a good run-with defender. He made his debut in 2033, playing several games mid-year before a shoulder injury put him out for the rest of the year. He has suffered another shoulder injury, and has had calf and hamstring problems. This knee injury has ended his season, in what was said to be a defining one.

Justin has announced his retirement from AFL injury this week, as a mature footballer, his chances are limited, and this is yet again a setback. Last season he played 16 games to take his career total to 22.

"I have come to this decision, considering the injuries that have taken toll, and as I get older, my chances will become scarce, and this (knee) injury will end my career" said Martens. Coach Mikey Robinson took the chance of retaining Martens several seasons ago. "He is certainly the unluckiest player I have coached, and I have coached well over 30 seasons now, so that says something" Robinson said. "We persisted with him, and had a breakthrough season last year, but this injury has hurt the club as he is a great clubman, and we hope he sticks around at the club from time to time"
 
I have been playing for about 20 seasons and have never gotten anywhere near a premiership (won a couple of night).... can you give me any tips
 
This game is on easy opponents (2nd easiest level), and I put the trading etc on simple to give me a better chance, therefore longer play.

During match day, I tend to work on a normal structure of mixing around my players, and always keeping my best on the ground at all time, I take the risk. I also fast sim matches during the season, as it actually is a benefit. ;)

Thanks - I am playing all normal and just cant seem to win my first premiership. Have had a couple of amazing teams but in all cases Ive either had injury's or report's to key players for crucial games and finals.

IMO this is an amazing AFL management game and I am really looking forward to this years new version.

I think for now I will start a second career on easy to finally win that elusive flag.
