Couldn't care less. Does it mean he's any less of a prospect? Not for one minute.yep. better double our efforts to lure back a guy dropped from an 0 - 9 team!![]()
Meesen is only leaving if he demands a trade. He signed a one year deal at the end of 2006 basically to see where he stands at the end of this season. When all ruckman are fit and firing, he’s probably 3rd/4th in line. The injury came at the worst possible time and if he didn’t go down chances are he would’ve been playing instead of Griffin.Feel free to take him, we're quite happy to take Meeson in return.
Strange underachiever young Danny, is an absolute gun at Coburg but cant step it up into the Richmond side. Adelaide might suit him better . . .
Hard to say. Although Meyer has done practically nothing at the top level, he’s only 20 and has chalked up 17 games. As much potential as Meesen has, he hasn’t yet made his debut. Meyer was pick 12, Meesen pick 8. I would suggest a straight swap would be reasonably fair for both sides, although the unwritten rule is you never trade a big for a small. We'll get more for Meesen than just Meyer.

Well let’s look at the facts. He’s 20 year of age, there are rumours that he is homesick and he is playing for arguably the worst team in the competition. For him to be underperforming is nothing to be worried about. Get him back in his home state and with his talent he’ll start showing everyone what he is capable of. I'd be disappointed if he wasn’t a priority come draft week.um. actually yes. yes it does.
FFS he's been dropped from 16thmond!!!!!!!
how does that NOT make him less of a prospect.

\The word Arseclown is severely underused IMO. Arsehat too.

At the end of the year Danny will have shoulder surgery, surgery which he should of had at the start of the season instead of making him play through it.

That's my belief - Meesen is a much more valuable commodity than Meyer.
atleast Meyer has played AFL even if it is for the team last on the ladder. I doubt you would have much we would want for Meyer
We are third on the ladder and you think we dont have much you would want in return for Danny ?
hang on ... I'm debating with a 17 year old aren't I. Stupid me.

No sign of Meyer re-signing. Interesting.Richard Tambling, has signed a three-year extension on his current contract, which will carry through until the end of the 2010 season.
The Club also wishes to advise that agreements have been reached with other young players, Cleve Hughes, Adam Pattison, Travis Casserly and Luke McGuane, and they are set to sign new deals.

Meyer for a 3rd round pick? Make it happen!

He might be available for free after the delists Drummond.![]()
Well his current contract expires at years end and for the club to re-sign all those other young guys but not him it would suggest talks have stagnated; at least that's what I read into the situation. Maybe they've offered him a contract but he is seeking a move home.perhaps he's not a priority for them?
I doubt they'll delist him. You would think a few clubs would be interested, but I doubt anyone would offer 1st or 2nd round picks given the year he's had.He might be available for free after the delists Drummond.![]()
Maybe, maybe not. Remember we made a BIG play for Brisbane's Troy Selwood and he's far from a household name.I can't see the AFC being all that keen on acquiring Meyer's services. Some added pace wouldn't hurt us but the guy has delivered zip for Richmond, a club still looking for its first win of the season. That said I don't know a great deal about him beyond what I've seen at the Tigers. Basically all I've got to go on here is Drummond insisting that the dude will make a 180 degree turn should he return to SA. No offense to him but that's about what it boils down to.

You’re right, and there are similarities between the two. Both first round picks taken from Glenelg, and both said to have excellent skills. But Willoughby is an undersized midfielder who as always going to be up against it. At 176cm you have to have something pretty special and foot skills alone probably won’t get you there.they may well have stagnated, they may not have really ever gotten going.
for all we know, he could be another Josh Willoughby.
He also might just need a change of environment, less pressure and more time to develop.
Correct, and at the time I was extremely interested in doing the deal. He's one of the best taggers in the league and he can win a lot of the ball.True. But Selwood has gone on to show we were 110% right to be interested.
