I agree, it would be silly to trade Tarks, he still has planty to offer. If we are looking at trading any of our 'senior' type players it would be O'bree I would have though. He is definitely a ball magnet but his decision making lets him down at times.
My only problem with trading our players is that we finished 2nd last so we are not going to get much for them so arent we better off keeping them as squad players so long as they are not getting paid so much????

I think your last point is very good.
We could say to that group of players we all talk about in terms of trading
"Listen we will keep you, but on greatly reduced money, if you are unhappy with that we will put you up for trade"

That then fees up room in the S/C to look around for a Bartel type.

The issue then becomes what do we give up for the 'Bartel type'

I think we definitely dont trade our picks, must keep 2 and 5! Our best bet is to get Bartell in the pre-season draft even though Carlton is most likely to get him first. We really dont have muich trade bait and the only players I would be willing to trade for Bartell are:
* O'bree
* Lonie
* Cole
* Johnson (if the rumour he wants out is true)
* J Cloke (although I would like to keep him)
But lets be serious, the only way Geelong will take any of these for Jimmy was if they had no other choice. They could do a choco Williams and get nothing for him like Stevens though....
I think Jimmy will sign though.
Perhaps we look at trading one of our talls to say a Bulldogs for a player like Faron Ray?????

Lockyer = SOFTC**K

He is probably the one player we could fool another club with, ie. they may give up something worthwhile for him.

I would happily get rid of Davis, Woewodin, and Lockyer to Freo/WCE for any draft picks our under-23 players they wanted to offload.

Lockyer is a star! I would be absolutely shattered if he was traded. Future premiership captain.

(talk him up before trade season god dammit)

My bad.

Tarkyn Lockyer is tough, accountable, fearless, fantastic overhead, lightning quick, a real leader, with sublime skills and I really don't want to trade him for the first hack that is offered.
