For sure, it's all hypothetical at this stage.

I just find it strange that so many people were supportive of the trade, that most thought he was good last year, and that practically everyone seems to be willing to accept the theory of him returning to Melbourne if a family member is ill. :confused:

Actually I'd be quite pleased with that. I'm worried he's going to retire and leave us with nothing. Especially if his salary continues to be counted in our cap (not sure on the rules with retirees and the salary cap).

Heartless as it sounds I'm afraid I'm going to have to side with Dom here. People get sick every day and people die every day. But life goes on. If we all packed it in every time a family member got sick we'd be a nation on welfare.

Two of my grandparents died last year within a few weeks of each other. I was granted a weeks compassionate leave and managed to get down to see one before she died (even though she was incoherent and unable to recognise me by that stage). But when the other fell gravely ill a couple of weeks later I was unable to get down due to commitments at work piling up. It would have been too late by the time I got to Perth anyway. Sad, but that's life.

If Taz decides family is more important then I definitely respect that. But I think it's a sign of how seriously he takes his footy career in the first place (can anyone imagine Pav pulling the pin for that reason - hell, even Clive didn't quit after we couldn't arrange a trade back to Adelaide to be with his sick father)

Of course this is all hypothetical at this stage. Taz just might want a couple of weeks compassionate leave.

Be interested to see Tarrant's disposal efficiency and Goal Assist stats from last year compared to some others in our team? Anyone dig those up

Lets face facts we all wanted him here because we were excited at how we ended the year and we thought with an all australian forward next to pav we would smash everyone in our way... Unfortunately we didnt think why would malthouse be happy to see him go?

We also ignored he preferred to go to West Coast... why? for glory...

Next our moron ceo Schwab tried to show the eagles how awesome we are by throwing a rediculous amount of money at tarrant...

Now at the end of all of that, it could have been forgiven if he gave his all for the jersey he runs out in. Anyone who says he does is a moron.

I was so excited for him to play for us. Was a huge fan when he was with the woods... Now it breaks me to come to terms with the fact that i think his trade deal set us back instead of forward...

Any part in particular, or the fact that I've speculated on a rumour?

The Fremantle Football Club has shown a lot of faith in Chris Tarrant, and in turn he has given us close to nothing in return. If he needs time off to clear his head then fine but he owes the footy club IMO.

Champions of sport deal with adversity.

A rumour is all that it is at this stage , certainly there is no need to launch into unsubstantiated attacks on anyones character.

I believe you are right in what you say if the family sickness is true,the only problem is some people struggle to cope,didn't woods struggle when is father passed away and end up leaving?

I assume you're being sarky Lachy? I'm not really sure what that 'cool' emoticon is meant to mean sometimes.

No judging here. I'll respect Taz's decision if he wants to leave. And I'm sure you've all gathered by now that I won't particularly miss him.

You could even say I'd be happy to see him go (though for Taz's sake I didn't mean under these circumstances). I want what's best for Freo - and players whose hearts aren't in it certainly aren't what we need at the club right now.

In the last month I've heard rumours that Bell, Tarrant, Peake, Murphy (is that all?) don't want to play for Freo anymore or just aren't interested in playing the game.

Sack them all!!!! Who is it on BigFooty that has all this inside information as to what's going on inside certain player's heads. Most of it is unfounded. There's a lot of crap and 'guessing' posted on our board. If you want to cast dispersions on our players characters, well at least name a source or provide some sort of proof.

Hey I would be dissapointed if he left but I wouldnt hold it against him thats for sure.
I think if this rumour is true the FFC would do everything to help him and come up with a solution to keep him here.
Look at the all mighty MJ (jordan) when his dad was murdered. He went into a hole and took along time to come out and he would be the biggest sporting star every to walk the planet.
Anyway enuff with all this crap and lets wait and see what happens so no more bitching and speculating.

There's only one player I've ever said that about and that's Tarrant. And I've quite clearly stated that my only 'source' is my own observation of Tarrant's body language.

Players have poor games all the time. Hell, some players play poorly every time they get a game. But I don't jump in and say they don't want to play for the club.

But that's the definite impression I get from Tarrant. You may disagree but that's my opinion. And I'm not trying to pretend I have some inside source who's told me that.

Besides, if Tarrant pulls the pin this week then I guess my doubts over his commitment have been vindicated somewhat.

rumour it is...but when you have people asking you the exact same question about a "Tarrant statement" from 3000km away it does make you wonder if there is a little more to it.
