You idiot.I’m not condoning his actions but I know enough to know that the woman involved wasn’t the saint she’s been portrayed to be in all this

That would require him actually believing he did anything wrong, and I don't think he does.

With who? Will be back in the AFL in season 2026.
And but one clubs fanbase will be up in arms.
Is a funny old world.
He has done wrong, but not bad enough to go jail.
I think he should be allowed to play afl in 2026 if not earlier , but if no club wants to sign him then they don't have to.
Don’t think there’s any chance we see him on an AFL list in 2026.
Repeat offender, given multiple chances, no remorse, no improvement, AFL.supposedly cares about DV. Any club thinking of offering him any role should be ashamed. He has done wrong, but not bad enough to go jail.

North tried hard. Surely the first thing to do was get a new phone, delete his ex girlfriends number. He needed to be forced to work a real job.
I agree now. How thick must Tarryn be, what sort of a bad influence is that big bloke he hangs around with.Repeat offender, given multiple chances, no remorse, no improvement, AFL.supposedly cares about DV. Any club thinking of offering him any role should be ashamed.

If it was that bad why not just ban him for life? Why a 18 match ban?I think the AFL has done well to not have the full investigation into what TT did out in the media…….it’s clearly a lot worse or more threatening than what’s been published. They don’t want the rest of the story to come out is what I’m tipping. I don’t know what happened, but clearly it was more than the media released. Whole thing was truly bizarre.
Valid point one could suggest, just the same as IF he can become a model citizen and is cleared to resume his career by the AFL.If it was that bad why not just ban him for life? Why a 18 match ban?
Speak to anyone from his home town in Tassie and they will soon tell you indeed he is beyond redemption.Valid point one could suggest, just the same as IF he can become a model citizen and is cleared to resume his career by the AFL.
Which means the AFL have sanctioned his return to football.
A club will pick him up, now a fair few North fans will be up in arms, that though is purely around losing a gun player for nothing.
I firmly believe he will be back ,the Bombers offered him a contract, but that was silly and way to soon.
No one has the right to not allow TT redemption. What he has done is disgraceful, no one will argue that. Doesn't mean it's a life sentence.
could have been left like that to give him some incentive to get his shit together, rather than it being an actual possibility of him returning after 18 monthsIf it was that bad why not just ban him for life? Why a 18 match ban?

He has always been a campaigner is a campaigner and will always be a campaigner of a human.
If he gets fit, appears to work on himself, plays decent at VFL level, and the AFL green lights it, he will have multiple offers. Clubs principles go out the window pretty quick when they have the chance to sign a highly talented player for peanuts. Case in point, the Saints meeting with him just after he was sacked. Despite since backing down, they didn't do that because they were concerned for his mental health. They wanted a leg up, if the chance came to sign him. The AFL would know this, so will set a high bar, if he is to get a greenlight.

I have mixed feelings on Thomas playing again. On one hand, I wouldn't want my club to sign him and think he's a piece of garbage. On the other, whilst his actions were abhorrent, I'm not a fan of this one size fits all cancel culture. Sets a dangerous precedent. Any punishment should be proportionate to the crime, and in most instances, people should be redeemable in the right circumstances. For those reasons I am against a life ban but think the bar on any return should be set extremely high.
I agree with that. Its going to make it very tough for him to get another chance even if he completely turns his life around. Not that Id put my money on that either. Im not sure if he really thinks hes done anything wrong.Saints management team backed down immediately once fan backlash hit them.
Any fan base would react the same way.

Although the heat was at its highest when the saints made their approach. Not great timing on their part. Not that I think they had any immediate plans to sign him. Think they just wanted to plant a seed, to give them first option in the future.
