Hunt has been excellent, decent contribution from Scott on return, the rest pretty deplorable including Head batting himself out of the first test...

Hope Hunt doesn't get stranded here.
Back to back tons. How good is that. Ok CA we have been crying out for a techically proficient quality opener. Here is one. In fact we have three.. Street and Ward too. I see all in a future Australian batting lineup.

I've been saying that I can see higher honours for Hunt, possibly not right now, but in the near future. He looks the goods to me. Good to see Scott make some, he's coming off back-to-back tons at grade level.

Typical Redbacks innings, two players get a score, the rest stuff all. Been going on for far too long.

Siddle loves playing the Redbacks, always takes wickets.

That scorecard.......

NSW hurting now players like Hunt and Ward move on
Tell me about it. Our selectors have been so incompetent in identifying good red ball players because they are blinkered by national underage white ball performances. Hunt, Ward, Neil-Smith, Ellis, Wright, the list goes on and on...

Is Neil-Smith going for a "specialist night watchman who bowls pretty well too" role? Think this is his 4th shot at it this season and from memory, they were all pretty good. (Apologies in advance for getting him out by saying this).

This is a disgusting run rate. The constant negative batting this season is pissing me off.

Agreed. Especially when you've already lost time with rain. SA scored around 3 an over, Tassie are just over 2.

I guess because very few people attend Sheffield Shield matches these days, maybe players don't feel they need to entertain. I grew up watching SA in the Favell/Chappell era. I recall Favell saying once that he told players if they bat the entire first day, he'd rather be 7/300 than 2/290.

Yet another Redback who at times shows glimpses of ability, but his good performances are few and far between. He was probably having a snooze.
Since he had that time away for mental health reasons he just doesn't seem the same cricketer

Yeah something has gone wrong in his development for sure. I know pre his mental health break he was training an obscene amount. Reading between the lines perhaps, even subconsciously he feels like maybe if that regime didn’t take him to the next level then he might have gone as far as he will in cricket. Not sure I’m only speculating.

Tassie head into stumps last night 1-101
Stumps score: 3-102
The two wickets: The two established batsmen

Tassie head into lunch today 4-181
Lunch score: 6-181
The two wickets: The two established batsmen

Hopeless.

I've always liked it when he's gone after the bowling, easy to say but I think he should be a little more aggressive.

A couple of years ago I thought he would be Warner's heir apparent without being a complete *******. Seems like a long time ago now

Wasn’t he batting for 8-hours a day on the bowling machine last pre season?
