Somewhere you can hide it easily because I'm guessing you won't like it so much when your 50.

I got my neck tattooed when i was about 19. I dont regret having it but its not ideal in job interviews :D. So if your planning on becoming anything but a shit kicker or punk rocker id suggest getting it anywhere that can be covered by a long sleeve shirt.

case and point from the nba #37814

alot of those nba players that have tatts wear tailor made, and figure hugging suits, ie lebron james and his milky bar kid look

anyway, the movie 21 grams, benecio del toro's character had tattoos all over his body, he was working as a caddie in a golf club, it was suggested by his managers that he should wear a scarf - he got fired for his unpresentable appearance. later on in that movie he heated a butter knife and scraped one of his tattoos off on his forearm... hmm... not the most pleasant movie, forget i mentioned 21 grams

*major bump*

Tattoos are disgusting and are unfortunately becoming very popular. It is upsetting because tattoos ruin natural beauty, regardless of gender. Ladies, PLEASE - do not get any tattoo work on your beautiful bodies!

Tattoos are permanent reminders of mindless consumerism.

ugh, a "friend" of mine recently got a tat on her ankle. I normally don't mind them but this just pissed me off, probs more to do with her than the tat itself but whatevs...

it was much like this:
ankle-tattoo-girl-2.jpg

but crappier and with the following caption: "Peace, Love, Hapiness and Freedom in each step i take..."

bah, make me what to jump off a cliff...

Maybe they are TO mindless consumers.

Maybe you should UnLearn how to paint everyone with the same brush, so to speak.

I like tattoos. I think they look good. Obviously not the shitty ones bogans have, but ones that actually mean something, or look good.

My girlfriend has a rose going up her ribs, with a little love heart next to it. That was for her grandma that passed away. She also has a little aries thing on her foot, with some stars going through it, and a little bird just above her hip bone.
I think they look good, and I find them attractive as well.

I would like to get one/some, but I have no idea what, and wont be getting one until I actually have an idea of something that will have a deep enough meaning to myself.

What? I voice my distaste towards a currently popular fashion trend. It is an entirely personal choice to get indelible ink on your skin. I bet there are fashion trends you don't agree with?

The thing about about tattoos is, the trend won't last but the stain will.

I was watching TV tonight and watched an ad for a skin shaving brand and the male model in the ad was covered in tattoos. How and why is this fashion trend actually gaining acceptance in society?

I'm not even going to give you a proper response.

Stop looking at other people and judging them before you know them.

Nobody complains about the stain that your parents left on this earth.

Why are you getting personal? How and why have I offended you?

I have not judged anyone in particular. You're not willing to give me a proper response but would rather sling a personal insult.

Three long-time friends of mine are tattoo artists. One of them has tatts on his face. They're my friends regardless of their appearance.

choco123: I haven't judged anyone. I have judged a fashion trend - nothing more.

What are you 90?. My god it must be shit knowing you.

^ Agree + 1 million.

A neck tattoo on a guy just screams idiot. Whilst perceptions can be misleading, I have not met any person with a neck tattoo that vaguely resembled intelligent.

The worst tattoos are the ones that have "meaning". I mean, how wanky can you get?

The only time tattoos are good are when they are simple, clear, inconspicuous, and not totally attention-seeking. Bonus points for anything funny/ironic/actually intelligent (not pseudo-intellectual or spiritual). I want to get one like this, as soon as I can think of a tattoo that fits the bill. I'm thinking of a dot (or similar) on the palm of my hand.

What? I judge people with tattoos all the time. I don't conclude they're ******ed straight away or a bad person but it's an insight into their decision making/values etc. Why should I ignore this behaviour?

How is a dot in the middle of your hand not attention seeking?

When was the last time you looked closely at the palm of somebody else's hand?

I want a tattoo because, well, I want the experience of getting one, I want to know what it's like, without having to actually "wear it". A small dot on the palm of the hand is not conspicuous, it doesn't mean anything, nobody will see/notice it except me, and it's completely pointless, which is the point. Tattoos on the palm of the hand also tend to fade over time, because of the amount of skin that gets replaced over time due to usage.

It will also cost you $80 at a minimum. Well worth it.
