nah i think its good, he loves his local club and wanted to honour it. He will end up with a magpie anyways once we win a flag........

Well he might. Failing the flag if he's a career player then he may just get one anyways. just caught my eye on a slow day at work.

Never ceases to amaze me the sheer arrogance (or ignorance) of those that pass judgement so easily on others with no understanding of the circumstances and beliefs of those who might feel strongly enough to show their pride, gratitude, love or sense of belonging to something important to them.

I love tattoos. Not so much for their aesthetics (obviously IMO some look better than others) but for the personal stories that generally are behind most of them. Footballers' tatts are no different.

I do have tattoos, and yes, one of them is a Southern Cross. They are deeply personal to me. I have these on each shoulder. I don't walk around with sleeveless shirts. No one at my work or that doesn't know me reasonably well knows that I have them. Not because I'm ashamed or embarrassed of them. Its because I got them for myself (and maybe my wife...who absolutely loves them... still turns her on after seeing them every day for the last five years!:thumbsu::D). Not for anyone else.

I don't see myself as a bogan, nor an unoriginal fad follower, but ultimately those types of stereotypes are for others to dispense so they can feel a degree of superiority to which they seem to have a need to aspire to.

To each their own I guess.

What I hate more is bigots and idiots who associate tattoos with bogans, thuggery, crime, etc. I have many, been doing so for 17 years, 34 now. I have a wife 2 kids, own my own business and do ok. I dont pass judgement as easily as these people

Do people other than that get them?

LOL!

Generally no. This being the case, the world is being overrun by bogans, thugs and crims... in particular there seem to be a rise in these 'types' infiltrating AFL playing lists... something really needs to be done about it. The Rules Committee or the AFL Commission should look into it. Kids really shouldn't be exposed to those types when they come to watch good, wholesome family entertainment such as an AFL game.

Dane Swan looks like an absolute knob with his tattoe and I can gaurantee he would be a bit of w***er considering he wanted to get vomit all over his arm for all to see. He looks like a fool and he's stuck with that disgusting looking crap on his arm. Hahaha. Suffer to the bogan. Serves him right :o

Geeeezus at Swanees tatt - thats obviously a new addition or its a touch up pic - don't rem seeing that during 08? What's he thinking??

Did anybody hear about that guy that got tattood on his arm "Geelong premiers 2008" right under where he got the same for 2007 BEFORE the game was played to show his confidence or something. Was one of the funniest thing ive ever seen....
