southern cross is so common and un-original. by the way, getting the union jack on its own could look funny - people would think you're a pom, but getting just the aussie flag, i dont see the problem with that? so it's got the union jack in it? that has more historical relevance to our country than the southern cross. sure the southern cross is symbolic, but in terms of meaning to our country's past, the union jack holds more significance. the thousand of diggers who died for us fought for not only australia, but our mother country - the union jack. i dont know why people are so ashamed of the union jack, it's part of who we all are and where we've come from as aussies. sure country's evolve but that doesnt mean you have to forget your past or erase it from your future. i count myself as aussie as i come and i love our flag and our history that it represents.

What a load of frog sh1t. My father, uncles grandfathers etc. didn't fight for the mother country ,they fought for Australia and Australia only. And if people want to get the Southern Cross or the Eureka flag good on 'em.

And as for players having tatts, again good on 'em. Check out the RL players they're covered in them.

Great point.
Without going into the intricacies of war times & how & why people fought in them, your father & uncles may have been called to "duty" for the empire but when they were shelling the last thing in their mind would have been the "mother country". They would have been thinking... stay alive for myself, my family & my home.

I'd classify anyone that gets one as a bogan. And yes, I have a stupid nephew that followed peer group pressure. Despite his bloodlines he's now a bogan.

Despite his bloodlines? LOL. I feel sorry for your nephew, does he see his judgmental tosser uncle much?

Am I the only one thinking that judging, middle class tosser to bogan is a sideways move?

Does Sarah O'Hare, and others, know how silly and classless they look ?

Next time I see Lachlan I'll let him know what you think, he's bound to force her to remove it...

Thankfully, I don't need to deface myself to feel better in the morning.

No doubt one day I'll be a pseudo individual because I'm a clean skin. I reckon it looks great.:thumbsu:

What do you do in the morning to feel better about yourself? Complain about your nephew? Feel superior? Get on an online forum and tell people that their personal decisions amount to them defacing themselves and that they're a bogan? Right.

90% of them do!!! Either that or they are trying to be tough guys!
Yeah thems the reasons for tattoos:rolleyes:

please continue with words of wisdom messiah "shakes head in disgust"

I reckon the Southern Cross has probably become too common. Someone should go the whole hog and get the hourglass nebula instead.

Best one I've seen is a high school maths teacher (with guns) who has the Pi symbol on his bicep. I'll never get one but if I did it would be a dollar sign in the same spot.

You have to be super passionate about something to get one and not regret later on I reckon.

I suggest you go and have a word with your History Teacher son.

I would've thought I'd made it pretty clear. I've taken umbrage at your judgmental view towards people who choose to get tattoos.

People are judged every day of the week for their appearance and actions. You assess people every time you step out in public, even if you don't realise it.

Tats are widespread these days through all walks of life and are quite well accepted in the community, however, there will always be some people that consider the recipients of such an invasive procedure as boganish, or as my elderly Mother would say, 'common'.

Rightly, or wrongly, I'm one of those that finds the vile ink that adorns some bodies as grotesque. But it causes me no angst, and there's little care factor. Get yourself done from head to toe for all I care.:thumbsu:

I have the same feeling towards disgusting piercings.

My Wife wont F#@#@#@# let me get a Hawks 2008 premierhsip tattoo...

Oh well i still got my skull that she cant get rid off

Soft lol.
If you want it, just go and get it lol.

Does anyone remember a bloke who played for the pies years ago called Peter Pettigrew? He had more tatts than the entire playing list of the AFL today. Those were the days when tough guys got tatts not like the pussies who get them today.

There was enough "care factor" for you to post here and involve yourself in the discussion.............Common indeed. Perhaps you could get your batman to give these ruffians a good cuff around the ears if they dare accost you whilst entering the Meloburne Club

I think tattoos are common every man and his dog has them. I find the majority of them are crap.

Did anybody hear about that guy that got tattood on his arm "Geelong premiers 2008" right under where he got the same for 2007 BEFORE the game was played to show his confidence or something. Was one of the funniest thing ive ever seen....

I remember this, and apparently after the GF he was hoping Melb Storm would win so he couldat least change it to suit. So f......n much for that.

May as well change it to Roos Premiers 2009 :thumbsu::thumbsu:
